Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1211: Those Who Have Seen the World vs. Those Who Haven’t (Part 2)

The tactic was simple: bribe other contestants, use numbers to buy time for Elizabello II, and give his King’s Fist the time it needed to charge.

This was also the trump card that allowed the Providence Kingdom to stand firm in the New World—the secret art of the Elizabello Race, the King’s Fist. The power of this punch was immense; on the battlefield, Elizabello II had once destroyed an enemy nation’s fortress with a single blow.

But the price was that this punch took far too long to prepare, requiring a lengthy charge, and after throwing it once, Elizabello II no longer had the strength to launch a second attack. It could only be used as a critical deterrent-type weapon.

According to Dagama’s plan, as long as they could stall until Elizabello II unleashed the King’s Fist, that would be enough to lock in victory—but the arena was far more brutal than he imagined.

“Just a bit more, just a little more time…”

Elizabello II’s movements didn’t stop; he kept swinging his fist toward midair. The sweat streaming down his forehead showed that he was already exerting himself to the utmost.

And just then, an even stranger person appeared.

Splaaash…

Amid the sound of water, at the edge on another side, Bartolomeo was urinating toward the spectator stands.

Facing the scolding from the stands, he not only didn’t feel embarrassed, he even gave it a shake, then pulled a black ball out of his pocket.

“So ugly, man! Seeing you punks strutting around like that really pisses me off! You enjoying this little show that much, huh?!”

He then clenched the black ball hard and hurled it toward the stands.

“All of you can go to Hell for me!”

The threatening words, the black ball shaped like a bomb—at the instant it hit the ground, fear spread through the audience. Men, women, even toys all ran for their lives.

The narrow spectator stands instantly turned into a massive jam. Some tried to clear a path with money, some played pitiful to earn sympathy, but under the threat of death, everything was pointless.

No one was willing to give up their chance of survival, which only made the passageways even more congested. By the time the black ball hit the ground, the crowd around it still hadn’t dispersed. In the face of life and death, no one cared about their image; everyone was putting their ugliest side on full display.

And when they realized it wasn’t a bomb, just a scare tactic black ball, the emotions pent up in their hearts exploded, and countless bits of trash went flying toward Bartolomeo’s direction.

Relying on his Barrier-Barrier Fruit, Bartolomeo successfully blocked Owen’s wide-area attack and became one of the few survivors.

“Katakuri-nii, I think that rooster-head actually makes a good point. These guys really are annoying.”

“Yeah? You two go take care of the others. I’ll handle that rooster-head. One more minute, then this match should be over.”

Katakuri had already seen the outcome. If he let Owen and Daifuku deal with Bartolomeo, they’d just waste time because of the Barrier-Barrier Fruit. Even though Bartolomeo himself wasn’t that strong, the Barrier-Barrier Fruit was a total bug.

Its bizarre Defense Power left most people helpless. Owen and Daifuku’s attacks weren’t enough to break his barrier. There just happened to be three factions left in the ring, perfectly matching the three brothers’ opponents.

“Hot Sea Boiling Fist!”

Flames burned in Owen’s eyes as he locked onto Hack as his opponent, closed the distance in an instant, and repeatedly clashed fists with him. Even with Haki between them, a scorched smell still spread through the air.

Even if his fists didn’t land directly, the intense heat they carried would still burn his opponent. In short order, Hack revealed an opening, announcing his defeat.

As for Elizabello II, his King’s Fist still hadn’t finished charging, but Daifuku’s demon had already reached his side. Including Dagama, the last two guards were all struck down by Daifuku’s demon.

“No choice… gotta throw a small one first…”

Seeing the demon closing in, Elizabello II had no choice but to end his charge early and throw a punch toward Daifuku.

“Mini King’s Fist!”

The demon summoned by Daifuku shattered on the spot, blasted into smoke by Elizabello II’s punch. But during that moment, Daifuku leaped high into the air, dodging the King’s Fist.

“So this kind of attack… sure enough, that Morgans guy was talking big again.”

As one of the kings of the Underworld, Morgans often appeared at Charlotte Linlin’s tea parties. The Charlotte Family members all knew perfectly well how much that albatross loved fake hype.

The King’s Fist was touted as a terrifying blow that could even fell a Four Emperors, but in reality, this punch couldn’t threaten the Four Emperors at all. If there really were such a strategic-level weapon, the Providence Kingdom’s borders would have expanded long ago.

Even though this was a weaker version, it was enough for Daifuku to make his judgment. The demon had indeed been shattered, but in the blink of an eye, that cloud of smoke turned into a new demon.

“Demon Hunt!”

The demon swung its glaive down from above, carving a huge wound into Elizabello II’s body. Even a Mini King’s Fist still left Elizabello II stiff afterward—in Daifuku’s eyes, he was nothing but a sitting duck.

As Daifuku’s real body drove a kick into his head, the fighters of the Providence Kingdom were officially wiped out.

Only Bartolomeo, the one outsider unrelated to the Charlotte Family, remained. Looking at the Charlotte brothers, he not only didn’t feel afraid, he actually thought this was his chance.

[Luffy-senpai! You’re definitely watching me in a moment like this, right? Let me show off my power!]

Bartolomeo drooled all over the floor, as if he’d thought of some extremely special scene.

His luck along the way could only be called heaven-defying: without even bringing a Sea Navigator, he’d still managed to reach the New World alive by relying on his country-granny’s guidance. With this bug of a Barrier-Barrier Fruit, as long as he could raise a barrier in time, he was basically invincible.

But his opponent wasn’t some average foe. These few short seconds were more than enough for Katakuri to land a killing blow.

Seeing Katakuri’s fist swing toward him, Bartolomeo raised a barrier just like before. But Katakuri seemed to have foreseen it all. At the very moment the barrier appeared, his fist traced a jagged line, bypassing the barrier in front of him.

This was the first time Bartolomeo had ever clashed with a pirate from the top tier just under the Sea Emperors. He had no idea what level Katakuri’s mastery of Observation Haki had reached.

Before he could raise another barrier to the side, Katakuri’s fist had already smashed into his head, and his body collapsed limply onto the arena floor.
