Chapter 134: Chapter 32 - Teach Some Lesson

If the man acting as referee hadn’t intervened, I would have successfully turned the Third Prince into a human shield. The First Prince’s Fireball spell nearly struck the unconscious Third Prince, but was thwarted by the knight who claimed to be the referee in this honorable match.

Even though he had made a fraudulent deal with the princes from the start, I acted according to the situation. My hand, which was holding the third prince’s collar, went limp, releasing his unconscious body, which hit the ground.

Buugghh...

I didn’t feel any guilt at all for my rude actions, purely using the third prince’s unconscious body as a human shield to withstand the first prince’s magic attacks.

"You must not use magic attacks targeting the third prince!" the referee said, sounding unreasonable in this honorable match.

"I wasn’t targeting my brother! My target was that damn little girl!" the first prince said angrily.

The taunts I made seemed to make the first prince sink into anger; it took a long time for his anger to subside.

"Oh? I won’t be hurt by that weak attack. Because I’m using the Third Prince’s body as a shield. You don’t mind being used as a human shield, do you, third prince?" I replied, while shaking the Third Prince’s body that had just hit the ground.

"..." No answer came out of his mouth; there was only silence and the sound of the wind blowing past me.

"I’ll take that as a yes," I continued, letting go of my hand that was supporting the Third Prince’s body.

Buugghh...

The loud sound of his body falling to the ground was heard again, this time louder because of the position of his body that I was shaking to answer my question before.

"Don’t treat an unconscious opponent like a throwing dummy!" shouted the man acting as referee in front of me. He pointed at me as if giving me a stern warning.

"It was his fault he lost."

"Don’t go against my decision, stupid girl!" he replied quickly as he picked up my wooden sword that was lying on the ground.

My head ached from his arrogant attitude of acting as a fair referee. This only benefited from his actions is the two remaining princes. They, who looked exhausted after my attack, suddenly drank a potion that healed their bruises from their pockets. Their battered faces became fresher and more handsome like before.

For me, who getting used to being wounded by Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld, this honorable fight felt so easy. It wasn’t that I was arrogant in applying my amateur swordsmanship skills and proving my magic theory about the effective use of delayed magic in real combat.

All of this would have gone smoothly if this man who claimed to be a fair referee had not interfered with the course of the battle.

I looked at Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld to voice my small protest. Without a word, the Duchess seemed to understand what I was thinking.

"We have a great Doctor, Liliana!"

"Do whatever you want to that useless man!"

Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s clear words made me smile. The logical answer I’d been waiting for had arrived. Nothing could fool the Duchess’s eyes, as she saw through this foul play. This forced interruption of the honorable match had given the two remaining princes time to regain their fighting spirit.

An unforgivable act of cheating...

Therefore, I will do something to fix it.

"Oh my... you’re quite a bother to be the referee in this honorable match, aren’t you?"

"Can you step aside for a moment? Or do I need to kick your ass out of my sight?" I asked politely.

"By the way... I’ve received permission to remove some looser who pretends to uphold justice in this honorable match. So, please prepare your clean ass to be kicked hard, okay?"

While saying that sentence, I ran towards him.

My plan was simple enough: pull the man in the iron armor aside, and takedown him using fire magic.

Sounds pretty easy to do, right?

As long as the man was still alive, Doctor Julia still had a chance to make him live with pain.

Tap...

Tap...

My footsteps felt heavy as I ran on the dry ground. With a quick sprint, I pulled the collar of his armor back. The man appeared to be giving the first prince instructions on his foul magical attacks. I couldn’t hear his exact words, but I definitely heard something about an "accident" for attacking me.

Whether it was meant as an accident or an incident, it certainly sounded dangerous when my survival instincts said, "That man must be stopped!"

Following my survival instinct, my hand immediately grabbed the collar of his iron armor and pulled back, slamming him hard onto the ground.

BAAAMMM!!

I had already given this fair referee a small warning, but he dismissed it as nothing and chose to advise the first prince about his shameful magic attack.

My ears may not have heard their whispered conversations well, but my survival instincts and danger detection abilities were too active to warn me of the impending danger.

Shaking off any doubts I had, I touched the man’s chest and felt his armor heat from the sun’s rays. It wasn’t too hot, but it would get hotter once I did "something" to him.

My hand pulled the back of his iron armor collar, causing the man to fall with a small scream. A cloud of dust formed, allowing me to twist around until I reached his chest. The iron armor was thick enough to withstand spears and swords, but it wasn’t very effective against the heat of the blazing flames.

Yes, right above his body that fell on the dry ground, I deliberately covered our bodies with thick dust to get rid of him, who was ruining my honorable fight.

Even with my sweet threats, he thought it was nonsense and was busy suggesting suitable attacks to launch at me.

Unfortunately, my intervention stifled that well-intentioned attack.

Anyways, I consider this karma and punishment for the unfair referee.

"Ball..." with the chant continuing my delayed chant, my mind was busy imagining a hot fireball piercing into the chest of the iron-armored man in front of me.

My palms didn’t leave his chest, which was feel getting hotter and hotter, almost hurting my palms that were holding it.

Booossshhh!!

Booossshhh!!

A spell that was supposed to create a fireball now resembled a blazing hot sword in my hand. Imagining the heat of the flames used to weld iron, I inadvertently created a variant of Fireball that would make Master Amagi and Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg eager to learn.

Luckily, the dust around me completely obscured my body. All that was visible was the faint glow of fire emanating from my hands.

"GGAAAAHHH!! HOT!! HOT!! HOT!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

"ATTACKING A REFEREE IN A RESPECTED MATCH IS CHEATING—"

Buuggghhh!!

Before the man could finish his sentence, I kicked him in the face, which was covered by his iron helmet. This man was too loud to talking about justice, which had been dead since the first round of the honorable fight.

Calling for justice that had long been absent, it was the most cowardly act I had ever seen.

Before the smoke of dust cleared, I finished burning the man’s chest, which was covered in iron armor; the outer appearance of his armor turned red like iron that had just been taken out of the furnace.

Peeesshhh...

Peeessshhh...

The sound of iron armor melting was heard before my eyes. Without moving my body after burning the armor and kicking the man’s head until he fainted, my gaze turned to the two remaining princes.

Gllaaarreee...

Gllaarreeee...

Their bodies trembled after our eyes met. I moved to pick up my wooden sword, which was stuck to the first prince’s wooden sword at the tip.

For some reason, the wooden sword that should have felt heavy suddenly felt light in my hand.

Cloommpp!!

Separating two wooden swords stuck together at the tip seemed easy; why did it seem so difficult for the first prince and the iron-armored man to separated our wooden sword?

There seem to be some things I don’t understand, but that’s none of my business.

My face felt dirty from a mixture of dust and sweat, making me want to wipe my face with a handkerchief.

Swwwoonngg!!

Enduring the itch on my face, I threw the first prince’s wooden sword back to him and kept some distance between us to continue this honorable match.

"I’m sure you two understand what just happened, right?"

"There’s no need to try to dodge the cheating accusation; I saw through your plan seven moves ahead."

"Pretending to be stupid and fighting me in any way is... allowed, you know."

"Because I’m not as weak as you guys..."

There was no bad intention in my words.

I’m just saying...

I’m ready for all the underhanded tactics and cheating they’ve will do.

My gaze now focused on the second prince, who was preparing a magic attack. The loud, complex-sounding incantation sounded like a royal family’s specialty.

Swiirrrrlll!!

Swiirrrrlll!!

Right before my eyes, a large magic circle appeared. The second prince seemed to be trying to show off his best magic skills.

"Too much for a long magic chant," I said while commenting on the weakness of his magic chant.

"Shut up and feel this!! Fire Lance!!" said the second prince enthusiastically.

"Advanced magic spells, huh?" Without showing my surprise, I moved one step back to prepare defensive magic.

I didn’t expect the six elemental spells I’d prepared to be useful in this honorable battle. I still had four delayed magic left, and sooner or later, I’d have to use them all.

"Hufffttt... what a bother, Wall!!" With a small sigh, I continued the delayed magic chant that I thought would be useless in this honorable battle.

Drrrrriiiitttt!!

BAAAAMMM!!

Drrrruuuuttt!!

A huge bang was heard in front of me, along with dust and smoke that spread in all directions, and the ground I was standing on suddenly shook as if hit by an earthquake.

It seems this honorable battle will continue until all the princes are defeated or badly battered.
