Chapter 290 - 268: Holy Light Slays the Enemy, Keeping a "Human Witness"?
Chapter 290: Chapter 268: Holy Light Slays the Enemy, Keeping a "Human Witness"?
A silent shockwave of destruction erupted from the core of the collision, instantly sweeping across the entire distorted space. The wildly dancing abstract geometric lines were crushed inch by inch, while the flowing, foul colors were violently vaporized into nothingness!
The entire "Canvas Realm" let out a piercing wail—the very structure of the space was groaning, twisting, and shattering.
The very foundation of this cage—the lines of Law anchored by the Dream Weaver—began to show a shocking, dense web of cracks under the strain of Royce’s resplendent Saint Flame and Carina’s profane torrent. Muddied shards of color flaked off and drifted down like peeling paint.
High Priest Finian Hayes took all of this in, the deep ravines of wrinkles on his face remaining utterly still. Only the fiery golden halo floating behind his head suddenly spun faster, releasing an even more vast and majestic divine might.
He glanced at Claudio, who stood beside him with a slight frown. As it happened, Claudio was looking back at him.
Communication between the two Advanced Level experts required no words. A single shared glance was enough.
’One of us will stabilize the space, while the other takes down the enemy as fast as possible!’
"Sayra Lehern—"
Elegant and arcane Elven words spilled from Claudio’s lips, as ethereal as a mountain breeze drifting through a forest canopy, soothing the hearts of all who heard them.
But words have Power.
As Claudio’s chant grew longer, his intonation rose and fell in a song-like cadence. His long, slender fingers began to trace trajectories in the air so complex they were dizzying, trailing streams of flowing Silver Radiance. The thousands of brilliant Runes surrounding him and Jon suddenly flared with intense light, like a celestial matrix being forcibly infused with life!
A flash of understanding lit up Jon’s eyes.
’It’s a High Tier Mage’s Layered Casting—’
’This is an incredibly difficult casting technique to master, one that greatly enhances the effects of Magic. In terms of player Skill ratings, it has to be at least Perfect Level! And an Advanced Level, Perfect Level skill at that!’
’Not even every Mage player could master a technique like this!’
’Looks like my teacher, who’s always been holding back, is finally getting serious!’
As Claudio continued his incantation, countless condensed and resilient silvery-white Energy tendrils shot out from the light around him like living roots. They pierced precisely into the fracturing, dimming abstract lines of the space.
BZZT—HUMMM—
A strange sound arose—not one of restoration, but of a forced weld.
The silver-white tendrils violently collided, intertwined, and Fused with the twisted fragments of Law, embedding themselves deep into every fiber of the near-collapsing canvas.
The entire space was as if forcibly bound and cinched by countless tough silver strings, its collapse brought to a sudden halt.
And after accomplishing all this, Claudio still appeared as calm and unruffled as ever—at least, on the surface.
The instant the Canvas Realm’s collapse was halted, Finian moved!
His gaunt frame took a single step forward. The motion seemed sluggish, yet it carried the crushing pressure of a toppling mountain.
His faded Ordinary Priest Robe billowed without a wind, snapping sharply in the air.
The brilliant, fiery golden halo behind the old man suddenly erupted with a light powerful enough to pierce through all chaos!
"By my Lord’s grace, let light banish this evil!"
The low declaration boomed like a great temple bell, reverberating through the distorted space. A torrent of pure, golden-red brilliance erupted from the old man’s desiccated frame, like a flood of molten rock bursting from a broken dam!
The light did not scatter. Instead, it rapidly condensed and took shape, forming an incredibly distinct ring of fire around him—so solid it was almost tangible.
It was the very same Solar Flare Shield that had once protected Reya from bandits!
The moment this brilliant Divine Technique Shield took form, it violently shoved back the surging, roaring tides of profane Energy, imperiously carving out a Domain of absolute divinity.
Finian became like a miniature Sun walking the earth. His aged body was completely enveloped in golden-red flames, with only his eyes—forged with the will of judgment—piercing through the raging holy fire. They locked onto Carina as she danced and shrieked within the chaotic Energy ahead—or rather, onto the blasphemous existence squirming beneath that human shell.
"Heretic, receive your divine punishment!"
Finian proclaimed, and the tangible ring of the Solar Flare Shield around him abruptly contracted. It then erupted with several beams of golden-red light so pure they were almost frenzied, forming into spears of judgment forged from molten Saint Flame!
This was the signature Divine Technique of the Sun Church: Spear of Judgment, the Advanced version of Sunlight Gun!
Ignoring the distance, they instantly pierced the surging, profane torrent and lanced in a volley with unerring accuracy toward Carina’s vital points.
TCHH-TCHH-TCHH—!!!
The air filled with the grating sound of intense searing!
The churning Energy around Carina was like thin ice encountering a torrent of lava; vast swathes of it instantly shriveled and vaporized.
The profane being beneath her exquisite human shell let out an inhuman shriek so sharp it could warp the very soul. Viscous black smoke hissed from the "wounds" where the beams had pierced her, and the air filled with the foul stench of sulfur and rotting flesh.
More fatally, these holy beams contained the vast, mountain-like will of Finian, an Advanced Level High Priest. They were not mere Energy Impacts, but rather invisible chains of order that viciously slammed into the intangible link between her and the enormous, chaotic silhouette looming behind her.
"URGH-AAAAAH—!!"
Carina’s frenzied dance froze, as if she had been pinned to the spot by countless red-hot steel needles.
