Chapter 214. Bloodlust
Western Continent.
Iron Empire.
Waldhar State.
Sauna City.
Sauna City University.
Combat Department Staff Skyscraper.
In the elevator to the conference room where the staff members waited for Aiden’s arrival, Aiden’s phone suddenly buzzed.
He took it out.
Desmonda had sent him a message.
They had almost been ambushed.
But they took care of it.
" From what she’s describing, the Order is the only power capable of pulling this off. Only they can infiltrate the Academic Federation" Aiden thought.
A calm glint flashed through his eyes.
He started typing.
[Good job resolving the ambush. Do not trust anyone.
Focus on cultivation and employ the help of Pamela Ashira for immunity. Her father, Ashbourne Cane is currently a beginner rank 4 warrior.
With her backing, open attacks won’t happen. Also, inform your parents about the current development so that they can use their resources to also deploy people to protect you from the shadows. Use this immunity to buy time to grow stronger. I’m also doing my best to grow stronger at my end]
Aiden sent the message to her.
Moments later, she replied.
[ Roger that, take care]
[ Take care, love you]
[ Love you too]
Aiden tapped his screen twice and put the phone in his pocket.
The doors of the large conference room pushed open.
There individuals entered the room.
" Good Morning ladies and gentlemen" Genevieve said after her eyes scanned the room.
"As you’ve all been expecting, this is Senior Turner, the man we proposed to be the new combat department professor for the fourth year students" She added.
Everyone scanned Aiden for a brief moment.
They had already done their research on the man.
He was a terrifying person.
Everyone in the room was a well known academic with a functioning brain.
Why would they pridefully antagonise someone before they knew who he was? What if befriending him was better than antagonising him.
This man was a terrifying person from the Kahra Desert of the Southern Continent, known as the Lodgekeeper. Before he left the Kahra Desert, he had cast a very large shadow on all powers there through manipulative acumen and sheer strength.
Some even said that his attacks were mysterious and that one wouldn’t see him launch any attack. One minute he was smiling. In the next, his enemies would be dead.
Having someone on the team would go a long way to boost the combat department’s prestige and success.
No one knew where he came from, which power he was affiliated to, and who he really was. So, it was not worth offending him.
Plus, what mattered was his experience.
Before his arrival, the team of professors in the room and the dean had already discussed that he would be a good addition to the team.
The only reason why they were here was to familiarize themselves with him. Also, the dean wanted to traditionally test his power.
" Pleasure to meet you, Mr Turner" The dean stood up.
His bloodlust leaked throughout the room, causing everyone to suffocate.
His ordinary demeanor was a sharp contrast to the amount of bloodlust leaking out of him.
Bloodlust is simply a natural dark aura a warrior develops, based on the amount of lives they have taken, whether that of chaotic beasts, or humans.
Usually, the bloodlust of more powerful warriors are stronger because they are naturally experienced veterans who have killed a lot to get to where they are. Bloodlust cannot be used to kill anyone. However, it can be used to intimidate people with weaker bloodlust, which in most cases is weaker warriors, since they are less experienced than stronger warriors and have killed less than stronger warriors.
However, theoretically, there are situations where weaker warriors can have stronger bloodlust than more powerful warriors if they have killed more than the stronger warriors. But that’s it. Theoretically. It’s simply impractical for weaker warriors to have killed more than a stronger powerhouse in a ruthless world like Endra, where the path to power is naturally through ruthless methods. Every powerhouse had laid their foundation on a mountain of corpses.
" As expected of the dean"
"I can’t even breath"
" Seriously. This man is so casual all the time that sometimes we forget how terrifying he is"
"His bloodlust is so thick that I can’t even see anything"
" Damn..."
Whispers of fear spread across the room.
Genevieve and Anly were currently on their knees, sweating buckets.
The only person among the staff, who was still seated was the vice dean, however, even she was not doing so well. Beads of sweat were trickling down her face. Her fists were clenched. She was doing everything possible not to lose her composure under the crushing weight of the dean’s bloodlust.
Then, everyone looked at the black haired, blue eyed, person.
He stood there straight with his hands in his pockets.
His blue eyes were calm and casual.
Expressions of shock appeared on their faces.
How was this possible?
Just how many people had this guy killed?
His bloodlust was extremely thick and dark.
It leaked out of his body and crushed into the bloodlust of the dean for a moment..
Because of this, the bloodlust of the dean could not intimidate him or force him to his knees like everyone else.
This meant that his bloodlust was on the level of the dean!
This meant that he had killed as many as the old monster had killed?
Was Alex Turner, the lodgekeeper, really a young man??
His profile stated that he was 20 years old, right?
Did he start killing from his mother’s womb?
How the hell was his bloodlust on equal footing with the bloodlust of an old monster?
This was inconceivable.
Who the hell was this monster?
Even the dean was shocked.
However, only for a moment.
"Interesting. Although we protect our own, whoever this young man is, he’s an asset we need to protect at all cost. He will push Sauna City University to higher heights" Dean Wembley thought. "I need to inform the President and the Vice President about him. But, he needs to prove himself first before I do that. Only then will the President and the vice president trust my words"
Wembley’s bloodlust vanished as a smile appeared on his face.
At the same time, Aiden’s bloodlust also vanished.
"Looks like it worked. I’ve never had to use my bloodlust before because the situation never demanded it. After all, it can’t be used to kill people. Since I need people to be dead to absorb blood essence, I have never seen the point in using it.
It can only be used to intimidate others with weaker bloodlust or nullify the intimidation effect of someone with equal bloodlust" Aiden thought "Had this senior’s bloodlust been weaker than mine, I would have probably had to tone it down to just nullify his bloodlust instead of intimidate him. Else, who knows, he would have gotten angry and used his real power to kill me or something. He doesn’t seem like the impulsive kind. But, it wouldn’t have been worth the risk"
Everyone looked at the lodgekeeper with shock.
Even Genevieve and Anly, were extremely shocked. They were closer to him when he released his bloodlust. They felt like they couldn’t breathe. It was so suffocating. Was he really a young man?
Everyone looked at the dean. The man was smiling.
He hardly smiled.
But he was smiling.
Dean Wembley was smiling.
" Welcome on board, Professors Turner" He said.
