Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Agness vs Liue

The scene slowly opened with Liues moving across the rooftops like a curse given form.

He was clad entirely in black armor now. No one would ever look at him and call him a "Good Deeder" again. His aura had changed — colder, heavier, suffocating. His face was sealed behind the helm, visible only as two slits of pale light.

He is heading directly towards The execution center.

He ran at blinding speed, leaping from building to building. But at the final rooftop the one that would let him jump straight into the execution grounds he stopped.

A woman stood at the edge.

Bent forward, staring down at the execution with quiet curiosity. Though she seemed harmless, her aura alone gave her away as a calamity

Liues frowned behind his visor.

She’s a calamity no doubt. But what is he doing here ?

He closed the distance. When he was only a few houses away, she stood.

Turned.

Black, hollow eyes looked at him through thin glasses.

"Agness. What are you doing here?"

Liues stopped ten feet from her, voice low and dangerous.

"To make sure the execution goes according to plan." Her tone was calm. Almost amused. "We knew the Starry Group would retaliate. So we set bait.

And you walked right into it."

"You think you of all people can stop me?"

A white, translucent sword materialized in Liues’ hand with a soft hum.

Agness tilted her head. "Hm. You think that Good Deeder ranking makes you special?"

Mist coiled. A scythe of gray fog formed in her hand. She held it with one hand and smiled.

The moment she did, Liues’ instincts screamed at him.

Her power was immense. On par with a Berserker-class Calamity.

"I always knew you were a Calamity," Liues said. "Just not _this_ strong."

Agness didn’t answer. She only settled into her stance, those hollow eyes fixed on him.

"Good Deed, Second Wave: *Dragon Water Slice!*"

Liues slashed.

Each swing sent out crescents of white energy. The waves tore through steel and stone, carving paths toward her.

Agness flicked her scythe.

Every slash shattered on contact. None touched her.

Liues clicked his tongue.

This is going to take some time....

"Third Wave: *Water Dragon!*"

Water exploded behind him and formed into a massive dragon. It roared and lunged.

"Calamity, Third Wave: *Hax Negation.*"

Agness spoke softly.

The dragon reached her face. She raised the scythe and cut down once.

*BAAM!*

The shockwave cracked the rooftop. The Water Dragon, for all its power, couldn’t push her back a single step.

Liues’ grip tightened.

She’s a problem no doubt...

"You have to die! Your skill is evil!" Said Liues as he dashed, using the dragon as cover. From its left flank he shot forward and thrust his sword straight for her face.

*PANG!*

Her scythe sliced through the Water Dragon in one fluid motion, then snapped up and blocked his thrust an inch from her eyes.

"How—"

She didn’t let him finish.

Agness shoved. It wasn’t a push. It was like being hit by a train . Liues was launched backward, crashing through three buildings before skidding to a halt in rubble. Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth.

He rose slowly from the dust.

"Now I know. You have to die."

"Third Wave: *Water Dragon.*"

The dragon formed behind him again.

Agness sighed. "Still that move? Running out of mana?"

Liues ignored her. He leapt. The Water Dragon followed, then surged into his sword, wrapping the blade in liquid pressure.

Agness raised her scythe. Power gathered along the edge.

"First Wave: *Unmissing Strike.*"

The two weapons were about to collide.

And Liues did the unthinkable.

"Fourth Wave: *Ice Dragon!*"

A second dragon burst behind him not water, but ice. Jagged, translucent, and twice as dense as before.

Agness’ eyes widened. "What—!"

Too late for her to block.

*BOOM!!!*

The clash detonated. Even with her strength, the weight and velocity sent Agness flying. She was launched off the rooftop and crashed straight down... into the Execution Center itself.

Below, Angel had already raised his wing-blade, ready to cut down the condemned Liues.

But before he could tell friend from foe, a dark shape tore through the sky.

It crashed between them.

*BAAM!!!*

Dust and debris swallowed everything. Silence followed. Then movement.
