Zhao Xuran was used to his son’s poker face once out of Gong Ruini’s sight.

"I know you don’t like me, but so what."

"I’m your dad, I’ll raise you well."

"But as a father, the only thing I have to tell you is that if you’re a man, you must strive to build your own career."

"Don’t think about inheriting from me."

Gong Ruzhi came out of the room and heard his brother-in-law muttering incessantly, giving a wry smile.

At first, he was genuinely startled, thinking Zhao Xuran was obsessed. Otherwise, why would he say so much to a child with no understanding?

Gong Ruzhi had mentioned to Gong Ruini, implying maybe Zhao Xuran was busy with studies and the stock market, then had to care for the child, causing his mental breakdown.

He recalls his sister simply acknowledged it with a "Got it," and failed to follow up, leaving Gong Ruzhi quite annoyed.

Since his sister didn’t take it seriously, why should he play the villain?

Despite deciding not to play the villain, when hearing his brother-in-law rambling to Pingping again.

"Brother-in-law, does saying this to Pingping do any good?"

"How does it not work." Everyone thought Pingping couldn’t understand, but Zhao Xuran believed Pingping surely did.

Even if he didn’t, his usual behavior of observing people’s expressions showed he wouldn’t be too far off.

"He..." Gong Ruzhi, looking at his nephew in his brother-in-law’s arms who was continuously blowing bubbles at him, couldn’t hold back.

Although his brother-in-law went a bit overboard, Pingping was innocent. So he tried his best to help.

When Zhao Xuran glanced down, he saw his son again playing cute.

Holding his son, Zhao Xuran really wanted to tell the babbling Gong Ruzhi trying to redeem Pingping, "You’re the one who should be careful."

Zhao Xuran genuinely worried silly Gong Ruzhi might get outplayed by Pingping when he grows up, not realizing he’s been duped while helping count the money.

But seeing Gong Ruzhi’s innocent look, Zhao Xuran held back, reasoning if someone insists on jumping into a pit, why stop them.

Some people really need a setback to progress.

"Do you want to hold him, develop some affection?" Zhao Xuran wondered how this little guy grew so big. Just holding him for a moment made Zhao Xuran’s arms sore.

Seems Pingping’s nutrition is certainly enough. He should tell his wife it’s unnecessary to keep breastfeeding; he should start on baby food.

Otherwise, if he becomes super chunky, losing weight will be an issue.

Gong Ruzhi had long been eying the baby, thinking of ways to snatch his nephew from Zhao Xuran, but worried he couldn’t match his brother-in-law busy educating the nephew.

Now hearing his brother-in-law suggest, his actions were swift, startling Zhao Xuran.

Truly swift, then seeing Gong Ruzhi teasing the chubby boy, he couldn’t help but ponder.

Although Ni Zi had recovered postpartum, theoretically the interrupted harmonious activities could resume.

Sadly, these few months had seen very few sessions, leaving Zhao Xuran terribly frustrated.

Note that even the limited occasions were thwarted by Pingping.

Either the baby cried fiercely just as operations commenced or started crying midway.

Though those weren’t the scariest incidents; the most frightening was during the final session, Zhao Xuran was about to sigh over Pingping not disrupting.

Before he could express, his wife nudged him, saying someone was watching them.

That scared Zhao Xuran; imagine someone spectating during a couple’s intimate moment, it’s truly chilling.

Where Zhao Xuran thought an intruder sneaked in, he turned to find Pingping standing at the crib, glaring at them. It really frightened him.

At that moment, Zhao Xuran was deeply thankful; fortunately, they realized afterward, or trouble would have ensued.

Zhao Xuran couldn’t fathom if noticed midway, would his manhood perish from fright.

Though Zhao Xuran had remedied afterward, like setting a curtain between their bed and Pingping’s crib.

Whenever they intended for activity, the curtain would come into play, but despite this, his wife would still worry during action.

Sigh, Zhao Xuran had long been annoyed with Pingping, especially after such an incident, wanting to kick him out constantly.

Sadly, his wife dismissed the idea, claiming Pingping would be scared.

Hmph, Zhao Xuran didn’t believe such a lawless boy could ever feel fear.

Many American kids sleep alone shortly after birth; younger children adapt to solo sleeping easier, reducing hassles when room splitting later.

If Pingping couldn’t sleep alone, then enlist help, and sure enough, Gong Ruzhi was available.

Amusing his nephew, Gong Ruzhi was unaware of Zhao Xuran’s ploy against him.

"Xiao Zhi, do you like Pingping?" Zhao Xuran asked with a kind demeanor.

Zhao Xuran approached with sincerity, employing his sweetest tone for Gong Ruzhi, oblivious to him being startled by such rare softness.

What’s going on? Gong Ruzhi looked puzzled, "Spit it out, what’s up."

A soft-spoken brother-in-law surely means trouble.

"You like Pingping, why not take him to bed tonight?" This nuisance child doesn’t realize his rare tenderness isn’t for him; he retorted aggressively.

Endure, we must endure, since the rascal dislikes gentleness, let’s revert to business mode.

Phew, seeing Zhao Xuran’s returning normal demeanor, Gong Ruzhi sighed in relief, otherwise feeling like the wolf-grandmother.

"No," was Gong Ruzhi’s crisp reply.

What, he refused? Zhao Xuran fumed, "What’s wrong."

"Pingping wakes for milk at night."

"Then he’ll need to pee."

"Moreover, he’ll cry without seeing you," Gong Ruzhi quickly cited an important reason.

Actually, Gong Ruzhi intended to imply, though he enjoys Pingping and An An, doesn’t mean he’s ready to babysit.

Despite delighting in playful moments, he absolutely hadn’t witnessed Pingping’s devilish side, nor wished to.

Oh well, Zhao Xuran seethed; why are modern kids so difficult to deceive.

Hmph, concerning Gong Ruzhi’s rationale, Zhao Xuran doubted it’s genuine; he’s no fool. "Pingping, your uncle disdains you."
