Chapter 2104: Chapter 2106: The Little Gentleman Qi Xiaoqi

It was Old Master Ning’s birthday. Even though it was just the family having a meal together, precisely because the whole family was there and everyone was close and affectionate, Old Master Ning was in an extremely good mood.

Song Jiaying stood in front of the Ning Family’s big house and took a deep breath.

"What’s wrong, not coming in yet?" Ning Ge stood on the stairs. Seeing that Song Jiaying hadn’t caught up, he called out and said with a laugh, "An ugly daughter-in-law has to meet the in-laws sooner or later, and it’s not even your first time here."

Song Jiaying shot him a glare.

It wasn’t her first time coming to the Ning Family’s big house, but occasions this formal were few and far between—almost nonexistent.

"All right, you’re not an ugly daughter-in-law anyway. Come on in." Ning Ge turned back, reached out, and pulled her forward.

Song Jiaying shook off his hand. "I can walk by myself."

Inside the Ning Family’s big house, everyone was already there, and when they saw Song Jiaying and the others, they all smiled.

"Why are you so late? We’ve all been waiting for you!" Ning Gang’s wife asked with a smile.

"A surgery ran late, so we only just got here." The corner of Song Jiaying’s mouth quirked up, then she saw Old Master Ning and stepped forward. "Sir, happy birthday, and wishing you good health!" She handed over the gift in her hand.

"We’re family, what’s the point of bringing gifts? I’m already happy you came home for dinner." Old Master Ning took the gift and passed her a red envelope.

"Dad was just waiting for you to get here." Ning Zhen pulled her down to sit and said, "Now we’ve all become background characters. Dad only gets worked up over whether you’re coming or not."

Song Jiaying smiled awkwardly and turned her head, spotting her son and Ning Zhen’s son glued to Qi Xiaoqi, playing the latest popular handheld game. She asked, "Tianyi, have you been naughty these past couple of days?"

"No!" Song Tianyi answered without even looking up.

Qi Xiaoqi said, "When an adult talks to you, you’re supposed to look at them when you reply. Also, she’s your mother, you should greet her first!" As he spoke, he had already given Song Jiaying a slight bow. "Hello, Aunt Ying."

"Oh, hello, Xiao Qi!" Song Jiaying laughed, then looked at Cheng Su. "Xiao Qi’s manners are just impeccable!"

The little guy was only going to be six next year, but his etiquette and manners were truly top-notch—there was nothing you could fault.

It was strange, really. Qi Taiguo’s family wasn’t any kind of old aristocratic clan, and neither was Cheng Su’s, yet the way they’d raised this child, he honestly seemed like some little noble born into a century-old family—a proper little gentleman.

After hearing what Qi Xiaoqi said, Song Tianyi put down the game console, called everyone properly, and then acted spoiled.

Song Jiaying deliberately glared at him.

"Tianyi is great too, really lovable." Cheng Su said with a smile.

Hearing that, Song Tianyi leaned over again, grabbed Cheng Su’s hand and acted coy, which set everyone off laughing again.

"Kids, you all go play over there." Old Master Ning let the little ones form their own circle; the adults naturally had adult topics to discuss.

Qi Xiaoqi immediately took the lead and went to the other side, and the other two—Song Tianyi and Ning Zhen’s son—clearly older than Xiao Qi, both followed behind him.

"That’s odd. My son is obviously the oldest, but looking at them, it’s Xiao Qi who’s more of a magnet. My son has always been a little tyrant!" Ning Zhen watched her son obediently trailing after Qi Xiaoqi and couldn’t help sighing.

"With people, whoever’s smarter and more capable naturally has more authority. People submit to the one who’s got the real skills!" Old Master Ning said with a chuckle.

Cheng Su quickly said, "Sir, please don’t say that. Xiao Qi doesn’t have any ’skills,’ he’s just messing around."

Ning Zhen said, "Oh, don’t be so modest. Even if he’s just messing around, he’s still cleverer than my boy. I heard he can already hold a fluent conversation in English?"

Cheng Su couldn’t help laughing. What could she say? Qi Xiaoqi had heard that this was the international language—once you learned it, you could travel the world—so he’d started studying it from when he was very ’little.’
