Gu Jin abruptly turned back, and the spotlight illuminated the surrounding darkness.

An Mingji, who had been following behind her, along with others, was nowhere to be seen.

"Little An?" Gu Jin’s face instantly lost its color, and she called out anxiously.

Aside from the cold wind, no one responded.

A sense of panic surged in Gu Jin’s heart, and she immediately retraced her steps to find An Mingji.

In the dim light, her stumbling footsteps were visible.

The missing An Mingji appeared grim, emitting an aura of overwhelming destruction.

Just moments ago, he had been closely following Ah Jin, when suddenly, everything blurred, and it seemed like he was the only person left in the world.

The mountain before him was the same as before, but its appearance had changed.

"Ah Jin?"

He called out Gu Jin’s name, and a hollow echo resonated from afar.

An Mingji’s expression grew increasingly grim and terrifying. The surrounding air felt still, with no sound of the wind, and even his breathing was extremely audible.

He lifted his foot and stepped forward, the distance that had just been within reach of Ah Jin.

Recalling the bizarre scene just now, An Mingji’s sharp gaze became even more sinister.

As he walked forward, he called, "Ah Jin, Ah Jin?"

Reaching a certain point, An Mingji abruptly halted.

Though there was clearly a path ahead, he couldn’t move forward no matter what.

It felt as if there was a barrier there.

An Mingji raised his hand to strike, unleashing a powerful blast of spiritual energy.

The formidable spiritual power did not shatter the so-called "barrier" but was instead directly absorbed.

He reached out to touch it, sensing something was off.

If it was a barrier, it should have had some reaction.

Even if his burst of spiritual power couldn’t destroy the barrier, it should have made some impact.

His long, jade-like hand slowly reached forward.

An Mingji’s hand easily passed through the "barrier," further confirming that this was not a barrier at all.

However, before he could delve deeper, the scene before him shifted.

Inside a solemn and majestic hall with exquisite European decor, people moved back and forth, men and women all dressed in black, each with a face of mourning.

At the front of the hall, a large mourning banner caught An Mingji’s eye.

"Family Head, it is time for the lady to be laid to rest."

A familiar voice sounded in his ear, more mature and steady than before.

An Mingji turned his head and saw Allen standing beside him, distinctly more mature and masculine.

With time, fine lines had formed at the corners of his eyes; this was clearly Allen in his middle age.

He was bent slightly at the waist, performing an Italian royal family’s ceremonial gesture, impeccably proper.

Gone were the days of reckless arrogance.

An Mingji noticed the strange height difference between them.

Looking down, he saw luxurious fabric gently covering his legs, utterly weightless in his sight.

He sat in a wheelchair, his legs seemingly devoid of sensation.

An Mingji attempted to stand, but his legs were completely unresponsive, as if they were useless.

This realization furrowed his brows tightly.

He lifted his gaze to scan the people around him, their faces filled with fear, their eyes unable to hide their dread, causing An Mingji’s aura of hostility to swell uncontrollably.

Where was this?

Aside from the clearly matured Allen in his middle age, everything around him felt so unfamiliar.

And what had Allen just said?

Lady?

The unpleasant expression on the family head’s face caught Allen’s eye, and he sighed almost inaudibly.

Allen naturally moved behind the family head, skillfully reaching out to push the wheelchair he sat in, guiding it towards the center of the hall.

There rested an intricately crafted coffin, its lid not yet closed.
