“I won’t pinch you anymore.” Baili Xia pouted and gave him a sideways glance.

“Should we just call it even after this?” Mu Xiaoyao raised an eyebrow, seeking confirmation.

Baili Xia really wanted to pinch him again, but these past few days, she truly felt increasingly unwell and didn’t want to cause a fuss.

“It’s even,” she said indifferently.

Only then did Mu Xiaoyao stand up straight, satisfied.

He stared at her pale face, wanting to say something, but he hesitated.

“You’re talking more,” Baili Xia smiled again.

Brother had indeed been talking a lot more recently.

In the past, he was a man of few words, but now, not only did he care, but he also tried to find ways to talk and cheer her up.

“It’s you who have become less talkative,” Mu Xiaoyao ignored her comment and walked beside her on the small path through the vegetable garden.

Not knowing how long they had walked, he suddenly said, “Tonight…

perhaps Mr.

Nangong should check your health…”

Seeing her eyes quickly dim, he felt helpless, “Alright, let’s talk about it in a few days, but are you…

sure you’re alright?”

“There’s no problem.” After getting pregnant, it’s probably like this for everyone – dizziness, nausea, a feeling of bloating low in the abdomen, and sometimes a bit of pain in the stomach.

All pregnant women under heaven go through this, don’t they?

Since everyone is the same, why bother seeing a doctor?

Her master had never studied gynecology, so he never taught her; everything she knew came from online searches.

In any case, there was nothing wrong, she didn’t want to be seen by others.

Mu Xiaoyao didn’t continue the topic, noticing her current aversion to any “doctor.”

Nangong Xu was so close to her and usually, she didn’t resist at all.

But, as soon as Nangong Xu approached her from a doctor’s standpoint, she would panic.

She still didn’t trust Uncle; she was still worried that Uncle might somehow try to rid her of her child.

However, the truth was, if Uncle really wanted to harm her, she couldn’t hide.

She surely understood this.

Perhaps Baili Xia also understood this in her heart, but she simply didn’t want to contemplate it deeply.

Including why Uncle wanted her to have the child here, whether Uncle genuinely wanted to keep the child…

She didn’t think about any of these issues.

The future path was her own; how to walk it…

Uncle could set any obstacles and limitations for her, but that was his business.

As for how she would walk her own path, what did it have to do with him?

Leaving the vegetable garden and continuing onwards led to a mountain path.

Fortunately, the surrounding lights were not weak, and along with the moonlight, one could still see everything around.

Glancing back at the vegetable garden, Baili Xia’s gaze faded even more.

“Brother, when will you leave here?”

“I don’t know, why?” Mu Xiaoyao turned his head back just like her.

The vegetable garden remained quiet and still; nothing had changed.

His gaze suddenly flickered, “When do you wish for me to leave?”

“Don’t go!” Baili Xia blurted out without a second thought.

After she spoke, however, she regretted it.

Brother didn’t owe her anything; there was no need for him to stay.

“Okay, I won’t leave,” he replied casually.

Watching as the mountain breeze gradually strengthened, he withdrew his hands from his pockets and adjusted the thin coat draped over her shoulders.

The coat was not thick, but because of his gesture, coupled with his words “I won’t leave,” her heart grew warmer.

She looked up at his resolute face, and her eyes slowly filled with a hint of pleasure.

“Brother, can we keep walking a bit longer? I don’t want to go back so soon.”
