Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1063
“Actually, that place wasn’t dangerous,” but of course, that was from his perspective; her words didn’t count.
When he had come back, he’d caught her climbing down and it had nearly scared the courage out of him.
“What could I think when you went there for so long and didn’t come back?” Baili Xia pouted.
How could she simply wait here calmly for more than half an hour?
“I went to the upper source of the stream; the water there is clear to the bottom and very sweet.”
However, with the rough way he had been pouring water for her when he returned, even if the stream water was truly sweet, it was unlikely that the girl had the chance to enjoy it.
He hugged her waist again before slowly letting go, “Don’t worry, this time I’ll be quick.”
“No, don’t go again.” Baili Xia held tightly onto his arm, refusing to let go.
She would rather go thirsty than let him risk it again.
The taste of fear and anxiety was enough having been experienced once.
“Actually,” she thought for a moment and suddenly curled her lips into a smile, “it wouldn’t take too long if someone brought it over, right, if it’s just one way?”
Mu Xiaojiu raised an eyebrow slightly, a hint of amusement appearing in his eyes.
“Sending someone over late at night, wouldn’t that be too embarrassing?”
“…” Damn!
The day Mu Xiaojiu would feel embarrassed is the day the sun rises in the west.
But Baili Xia didn’t call him out on it; instead, she played along with his lead.
“Recently, Brother has been following me around, picking flowers and vegetables; it seems like he hasn’t really trained properly for a while,” she said.
Mu Xiaojiu moved his lips slightly but didn’t mention that Mu Xiaoyao had actually been training every day recently; always when she was asleep or resting.
“That’s true, not training can make a person age faster; it’s good for him to exercise.”
He took out his phone, his long finger gently sliding across the screen.
This girl is becoming more and more like him—cunning and deceitful, yes, quite promising indeed.
The call connected, and the lazy voice of Mu Xiaoyao came through from the other end, clearly already in bed.
“Uncle, what’s up?”
“Bring two jugs of warm water, go through the forest behind the mountain, and climb up the cliff. You must arrive within twenty minutes.”
After saying that, his long finger swiped again, and the call was immediately ended.
“Uncle, twenty minutes… isn’t that a bit too short?”
The path through that forest wasn’t short at all; Baili Xia knew because she had walked it several times herself.
“Also, why two jugs of water? I only need one bottle.”
Two jugs of water would last for days.
“A bottle doesn’t really seem like it’s for training; two jugs look more like it,” Mu Xiaojiu said unconcernedly.
Baili Xia suddenly felt a throb in her head, a countless number of dark lines hanging across her forehead.
Was this supposed to be playing the role to the hilt?
Did they think Brother wouldn’t know what his real purpose was?
Even if she wasn’t by Mu Xiaoyao’s side, she could imagine the beautiful image of him getting up swiftly from the bed, hastily dressing, grumbling yet not daring to curse.
Uncle was really too wicked—how could he be so adorably wicked?
As for Brother, the poor guy, well, training a bit was for his own good.
…
Nineteen minutes later, Mu Xiaoyao stood at the edge of the cliff, watching the girl in the tent sip water bit by bit, unable to describe the feeling in his heart.
It was supposed to be very vexing, but seeing the happy smile in the girl’s eyes, all his irritation completely disappeared.
