However, the way those two bodyguards looked at Mr.

Mu, it really wasn’t proper.

Zimo didn’t say more, only reminding herself to be cautious at all times.

Soon, Miss Ye returned, with two tall bodyguards still following behind her.

She sat down opposite Mu Lingchuan, her smile growing more enchanting as she gazed upon Mu Lingchuan’s handsome face.

“Mr. Mu, since we have discussed most of the business matters, why don’t we take our time and enjoy a few bottles of fine wine?”

Mu Lingchuan waved his hand, gesturing for her to help herself.

Miss Ye glanced at her bodyguards, and one of them immediately turned and left.

Not long after, he came back with a sommelier in tow.

The sommelier placed three bottles of rare vintage red wine on the table, all clearly of considerable value.

Zimo didn’t understand these things, but it seemed to her that both Mr.

Mu and Miss Ye were people of status and wealth; it was only natural that they drank expensive beverages.

The sommelier poured wine for the two of them, Miss Ye lifted her glass slightly towards Mu Lingchuan, who also picked up his glass.

Zimo still felt uneasy, though she hadn’t wanted to speak up.

But after noticing the secretive exchange of glances between the sommelier and Miss Ye’s bodyguard, a sense of alarm suddenly surged within her.

“Mr. Mu, you’ve already had quite a bit to drink this evening, perhaps you should take it easy.”

Mu Lingchuan paused and turned to look at her.

A flicker of displeasure crossed Miss Ye’s eyes, but her smile remained sultry and graceful.

“What is it, is she your bodyguard, your assistant, or perhaps, a little lover?”

“No, I’m just the bodyguard,” Zimo immediately said solemnly.

Miss Ye tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, her smile ambiguously meaningful.

“Since she’s just a bodyguard, why does she control her master’s affairs?”

She looked at Mu Lingchuan again, raising her eyebrows.

“Mr.

Mu, is it customary for your bodyguards to act like this?

Or is this bodyguard special?”

“Miss Ye jests, I’ll drink to that first.”

Mu Lingchuan lifted his glass and then raised his hand to down the red wine in one gulp.

After setting down his glass, he said with a smile to Miss Ye, “It’s getting late, I don’t wish to keep Miss Ye from her rest.”

“Now that our business is settled, I look forward to Miss Ye visiting our company tomorrow to sign the agreement.”

“Mr. Mu is in such a hurry to leave; it wouldn’t be to accompany this little girl, would it?” Miss Ye’s gaze shifted back to Zimo.

Although it was accompanied by a smile, the coldness in it was bone-chilling and made one’s flesh crawl.

Zimo really disliked conversing with such people, someone who was one thing in front of others and another behind their backs.

A smile that conceals a knife; she detested such hypocrisy the most.

With a cold huff, she turned her face away, paying no more attention to them.

Mu Lingchuan also didn’t bother explaining and was about to find an excuse to leave.

Yet Miss Ye, looking at the three bottles of red wine on the table, said with a smile, “Mr.

Mu, the wine has been brought out; there’s no reason to send it back now.”

“After finishing the wine, I too should retire for the night.”

“Alright, then I’ll toast Miss Ye once more.”

Without needing the sommelier’s help, Mu Lingchuan picked up the wine bottle himself, pouring another glass for himself and one for Miss Ye.

This kind of woman, to put it bluntly, was only interested in his appearance.

At the end of the year, he’d encountered many such women.

Little Zimo was worried about him, but he didn’t take it seriously; he was no green youth new to the world.

“After the wine, it’s time to go back.” Dreading the persistence of women.

Miss Ye didn’t speak either, seemingly in agreement, touching her glass against his and sipping lightly.
