Baili Xia rolled around in bed for quite a while, drowsy and disoriented, before she finally closed her eyes and fell asleep.

She had just recovered from illness and had been prone to drowsiness lately, plus her body hadn’t fully recuperated and really couldn’t handle any strain.

Spending the evening outside traveling by boat and car, it was already quite impressive that she hadn’t slept until now.

But not long after she fell asleep, in a hazed state, she felt as if someone else had entered the room.

Yet, even without clearly seeing who it was, her heart did not panic as before, no longer reacting as it used to do.

She struggled to open her heavy eyelids and indeed saw a tall figure in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.

She couldn’t make out the figure, but she recognized his scent clearly.

Slowly closing her eyes again, she turned over, her back facing him.

Clearly awake, yet she seemed to not want to see him.

Mu Xiaojiu drew the curtains of the floor-to-ceiling window shut tightly, before striding towards the bed.

Was this little girl still angry, turning her back to him like this?

Mu Xiaojiu approached the bed, but Baili Xia continued to ignore him, still turned away, silent, feigning sleep.

Mu Xiaojiu’s lips curled up, revealing a trace of joyful amusement.

Suddenly, he sat down on the bed, took off his shoes, and then began to undress.

Baili Xia’s hearing was now extraordinary; she could hear every sound he made clearly.

“What are you doing?” Baili Xia sat up abruptly, terrified, and turned to look at him, anger bubbling up inside her.

“I don’t want to see you tonight. Go back where you came from, quick.”

She couldn’t believe he dared to do whatever he was thinking about in her room.

Did this jerk really think she would be willing to get close to him at this time?

“You may not want to see me, but I really want to see you, if you don’t want to see me, just close your eyes.”

Mu Xiaojiu tossed his trousers onto a chair nearby and climbed into bed.

“I told you to go back, don’t you understand human language?

I don’t want to…”

She bit her lip and swallowed back the words “see you.”

“I know you don’t want to see me, so I’m telling you to close your eyes.”

Mu Xiaojiu flipped over in the large bed, his long arm snatching hold of the little creature trying to escape, and dragged her back.

With one roll, he had her pinned beneath him.

“Quickly, close your eyes. I don’t need you to see me, it’s kind of embarrassing.”

His eyes twinkled with mirth, making Baili Xia so angry she wanted to lift her hand and smack him on the head.

Embarrassed?

Since when had Mu Xiaojiu ever been embarrassed?

Whatever he did, he was always bold about it.

“Humph.” She harrumphed coldly and turned her face away from him.

“What’s wrong? Are you so angry that you don’t even want to see me?”

Mu Xiaojiu’s hand cupped her face, forcing her to look back at him.

“If you’re angry, you have to say it, I can’t guess.

Don’t play guessing games with me; you know we’ve wasted enough time in the past.”

Baili Xia pouted her lips and glared at him before finally saying with a huff, “You didn’t reject Ning Anran.”

“I didn’t agree either.

Do you really think that’s what my words meant?”

He leaned down as if to peck her lips, but Baili Xia turned her face away, avoiding him.

“Mu Xiaojiu, are you even human?” Baili Xia was furious and pushed him hard.

Mu Xiaojiu’s kiss landed on her neck.

“Don’t call me by my full name; I prefer it when you call me Jiu.”

“I refuse to call you that.” She pouted her lips.

Yet Mu Xiaojiu extended a finger, lightly tracing over the vein on her neck: “I really want to bite here and drain all your blood.”

“I knew you always wanted to bully me.”

She turned to glare at him, but in that very movement, she was suddenly caught off guard by his stealthy advance.

Baili Xia’s eyes widened as she tried to push him away forcefully.

But her hands had barely risen when they were seized by his, pinned under his palm and held above her head, leaving her unable to move at all.
