The next morning, Sir Mu got up early from bed.

He didn’t even eat breakfast and started to arrange the invitations in the hall with Feng Gang.

He was truly in a good mood.

Today, the invitations would be sent out to inform everyone from the Eight Big Families about Xiaxia and Xiaoyao’s engagement.

Once the engagement banquet was over, Xiaxia would basically become the official granddaughter-in-law of the Mu family.

From then on, Xiaxia would never leave this home again.

As Sir Mu thought more about it, he grew increasingly excited, and a smile hung on his lips for a good half an hour.

Even Feng Gang was infected by this joy.

The wrinkles at the corners of Feng Gang’s eyes also occasionally lifted with Sir Mu’s smiling lips.

The two old men were as cheerful as the sunshine outside.

However, as half an hour passed in the blink of an eye and it was nearly 7:30, why had Xiaxia not come down yet?

Every time, Baili Xia was the first one to come down, arriving about ten minutes before Mu Xiaoyao.

But today, as it was nearly time, her figure was nowhere to be seen.

Sir Mu called a maid and spoke with a smile in his voice.

“Please ask Miss Sun to come down for breakfast, she’s about to be late.”

“Yes, Sir.” The maid took the order and immediately went upstairs.

The two elders continued to work on the invitations below.

Actually, there wasn’t much left to arrange, just the final check.

But just as they had been working for a few minutes, a sudden scream from the maid came from upstairs.

Both of them were startled and exchanged glances.

Feng Gang immediately stood up and hurried upstairs, only to rush back down shortly after.

“What happened?” Sir Mu frowned and advanced towards him, a hint of urgency in his heart, “Is it Xiaxia…?”

“Miss Sun seems to be ill, I’ll go and ask Mr.

Nangong to come and have a look at her.”

“Go quickly.” Sir Mu waved his hand dismissively and immediately ran upstairs himself.

In Baili Xia’s room, the maid brought a basin of warm water and presented the warm towel to Baili Xia.

Baili Xia felt extreme discomfort on her face and neck, and it hurt a bit when she tried to scratch.

She didn’t dare to scratch recklessly, fearing she might tear her face.

But, in fact, her face looked no different from being scratched, already unrecognizable.

When Sir Mu arrived, he saw Baili Xia with a gloomy face, anxiously facing the mirror.

“Xiaxia, your face…” Even Sir Mu was terrified.

Baili Xia’s face was covered in patches of red spots, and, moreover, those spots were slightly swollen.

Red and swollen, some areas even appeared to have traces of blood.

“Xiaxia, you mustn’t scratch, it’ll leave scars if you do.”

Seeing her trying to scratch her face again, Sir Mu could no longer mind his manners, and immediately stepped over to hold her hand.

“Grandpa, my face is so itchy, my body too, I can’t help but scratch.”

Baili Xia frowned, wanting to reach out and scratch her face and neck.

Following Sir Mu’s signal, the maid also grabbed Baili Xia’s left hand firmly.

The two of them held her hands tightly, one on each side, preventing her from doing any harm.

Sir Mu anxiously added, “Old Feng has gone to find Nangong Xu, he’ll be here shortly, please don’t move rashly.”

“But, Grandpa, I really am itchy.” Baili Xia still subconsciously wanted to reach out to her face.

But with the two holding her so tightly, she didn’t have the slightest chance.

Baili Xia, feeling helpless, was almost on the verge of tears.

So itchy, she felt as though she could die from the itchiness!
