Baili Xia saw through his intentions in a glance.

However, looking at it now, his hostility towards Dongfang Jin didn’t seem as deep as she had imagined.

Or perhaps, it wasn’t as severe as Guisu himself thought.

Eventually, in order not to delay Baili Xia’s treatment, Guisu got in the car with them.

After Dongfang Jin gave his assistant a phone call to investigate the assassination attempt, he drove them to a nearby hospital.

The assassination attempt on Baili Xia, coupled with the incident at the hunting ground, deeply troubled both Dongfang Jin and Baili Xia.

Some things perhaps need not be said too clearly, yet, the heart remains somewhat chilled.

It was Guisu who kept a stern face, staring at Baili Xia as she received medical treatment.

Even as the nurse cleaned and stitched his wounds, he paid no mind.

From start to finish, he didn’t even frown.

Forgot to mention, the disinfection and stitching, the entire process was done without any anesthesia at his request.

Baili Xia couldn’t help but feel emotional again, some men, she suspects, must have been raised on steel.

However, Guisu’s gaze at her was chillingly cold, making her scalp tingle…

“I don’t know who it was, and I haven’t made grave enemies with anyone.”

After the medicine was applied to her ankle, Baili Xia finally gathered the courage to look back at Guisu squarely.

“Maybe… likely… um, perhaps someone is jealous of my beauty and hired someone to kill me.”

By the end of her sentence, her voice became so low that even she could barely hear herself.

She looked at Guisu, then at Dongfang Jin whose expression was unreadable, and smiled uncomfortably.

Such reasoning… is terrible, isn’t it?

No one spoke, naturally, the two men didn’t even crack a smile.

This joke, not funny at all.

Baili Xia hung her head low, daring not to speak carelessly anymore, really… the more she spoke, the more mistakes she made.

After the doctor and nurse finished treating the wound, Guisu stood up.

“Wait a minute,” Baili Xia immediately stopped him when she saw he was about to leave: “You also got hurt on your back.”

Earlier he had held her while falling at the edge of the flower bed; though she was not heavy, merely about 90 kilograms, that weight is still significant.

Moreover, the speed of the fall was so fast, an ordinary person might have shattered their bones.

“Doctor, please check his back for any internal injuries,” she turned to the doctor.

“Okay,” the doctor was about to proceed.

However, Guisu dodged away first: “Whether I have internal injuries, I am clearer about it than anyone else.”

“Think you are some ancient hero,” Baili Xia really wanted to roll her eyes at him, “Even if you don’t get an X-ray, at least let the doctor have a look, otherwise…”

“I said, no need,” Guisu stepped back, glancing sideways at the doctor.

Just with that glance, the doctor suddenly felt a chill surge at the base of his spine, instantly spreading throughout his body.

Cold, so cold that his teeth were chattering.

This man… how terrifying.

“Guisu, you scared the doctor,” this guy, always scaring people so easily, just like some other man.

But, really, what was she thinking about that other man?

“Gui…”

Baili Xia wanted to say something more, but Dongfang Jin pulled at her arm.

“These well-trained individuals won’t let people they don’t fully trust touch their bodies, especially not areas like the back that they can’t see themselves.”

Baili Xia looked at Guisu, but Guisu turned his face away, not looking at her.

It was clear, he refused to receive medical treatment.
