“I didn’t even blame him, so why are you so worked up?” Baili Xia shot him a glance.

The master, like Brother, is deeply loyal to Uncle.

That kind of loyalty sometimes feels like it can sting others’ eyes.

Even though she has a good relationship with them, their hearts are always inclined toward Uncle.

She doesn’t want to fight with that man anymore.

Out of sight, out of mind.

He’s gone, and if she doesn’t think of him, all will be well.

“I’m just telling you the truth. I don’t want you to add unnecessary misunderstandings.”

Nangong Xu sat down and casually poured himself a cup of tea.

Baili Xia looked at the teapot he placed on the coffee table and raised her eyebrows.

“Master, you have so many old-fashioned habits.

Anyone who doesn’t know might think you’re from ancient times.”

“My father always lived like this.

When you arrive in Bei Miao, you’ll see that their habits are even more traditional and ancient than mine.”

“I’ve already noticed.” Baili Xia chuckled and used the laughter to make herself seem more relaxed.

Thinking about Bei Miao Bei Family, there was always an indescribable feeling in her heart.

They could very well be her family.

Though honestly, she still felt this matter was too unbelievable, like something out of a dream.

“Master, you must help me this time.”

“Help you do a paternity test? I think Lord Bei or the Old Madam could assist with that. Want some tea?” Nangong Xu pointed at the teapot beside him.

Baili Xia walked over on her own, pulled over a chair, sat down by the coffee table, and poured herself a cup.

“Master, is it really true that only the blood of those from Bei Family can save people in this world?”

“Not necessarily.”

“Who else?” Holding the cup in her hand, Baili Xia tightened her fingers and abruptly looked up at him.

“So, that means there’s still a chance I’m not from Bei Family?”

Nangong Xu furrowed his brows in thought for a moment, then nodded and shook his head simultaneously.

“Actually, it wasn’t just Bei Miao in the past.

That place used to be called Miao Domain and was divided into Nan Miao and Bei Miao.”

“But later, Nan Miao gradually declined.

By the previous generation, Nan Miao’s people had completely vanished.”

“Completely vanished… What does that mean?”

How could an entire family suddenly disappear?

Could they all have been killed?

Thinking about it sent a chill through Baili Xia’s heart.

Could there really be such complex connections?

Could she possibly be someone from Nan Miao instead?

“What are you thinking? You silly girl with a head full of nonsense. Have you been watching too much TV?”

Nangong Xu suddenly raised his hand and gave her a light knock on the head.

It wasn’t hard, but it still stung.

Baili Xia put down her cup, held her head, and looked up at him with a glare.

“You said they vanished.

Isn’t that what you meant?”

“I said they disappeared from the Miao Domain’s sphere of influence.

Did I ever say they were dead?”

Baili Xia stuck out her pink tongue, her expression showing a hint of playful mischief.

From the way he said it earlier, she really thought the entirety of Nan Miao had been wiped out.

Maybe she really had been watching too much TV.

“Miao Domain was transformed into Bei Miao many years ago. Meanwhile, Bei Family established a pharmaceutical company and named it Miao Domain, perhaps to honor Bei Miao’s ancestors, to continue a tradition.”

Nangong Xu leaned back against the chair, crossed his long legs, and continued speaking at a leisurely pace.

“It is said that the blood of descendants from Nan Miao Nan Family, like Bei Miao Bei Family, also has the ability to save lives.”
