Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1295
Mu Xiaoyao didn’t say a word, and his gaze showed no sign of emotion.
Baili Xia was very familiar with this kind of expression.
It meant, “Say whatever you want, I’m still not agreeing.”
So cold, so stubborn, like a bull!
She muttered a few words to herself but kept her face full of carefully constructed smiles.
She had to think of other ways and speak as gently as possible.
“How about this—I’ll check the situation first. If the Youyang Pavilion isn’t too crowded tonight, then I’ll go there. Does that work?”
Mu Xiaoyao still didn’t speak.
“Brother…” Baili Xia shook his arm again.
Mu Xiaoyao glanced at her.
Although this girl seemed carefree and casual on the surface, the concern in her eyes was something he could see clearly.
Had she already convinced herself that Bei Qingyou was her mother?
This little creature…
He felt a bit helpless but didn’t want to grant her wish too easily, fearing she would grow even more reckless going forward.
After a long pause, he replied offhandedly, “Tonight…
we’ll look at the situation first.”
“Alright, it’s settled then!”
Baili Xia’s brows instantly lit up with joy.
‘Look at the situation first’?
Did her brother really think she couldn’t see through him?
When had he ever not given in to her requests?
Come to think of it, why did her brother seem increasingly indulgent toward her these days?
…
The morning flew by quickly, and after lunch, Bei Tianyou returned from outside.
He was clad in a white casual outfit, exuding an extraordinary charm—the epitome of a poised and highborn gentleman.
Upon arriving at the Bi Luo Pavilion, he headed straight for the western wing on the second floor to find Baili Xia and the others.
At that moment, only Baili Xia and Mu Xiaoyao were present.
Nangong Xu had gone out after finishing his meal.
“Mr. Bei, why do you look so tired?”
Noticing the slight fatigue between Bei Tianyou’s brows, Baili Xia couldn’t help but ask.
“Mr. Bei…” Bei Tianyou frowned slightly but didn’t take it to heart.
“Maybe I didn’t rest well last night,” he said, shaking his head lightly.
“By the way, I came to tell you something—Grandpa came back this morning.”
“I know. I already saw him this morning,” Baili Xia nodded in response.
“Oh? You saw him?” A hint of surprise flashed in Bei Tianyou’s eyes.
“Yeah, lots of people went to welcome him when he returned, so I just joined the fun,” Baili Xia replied with her typical indifferent tone.
Bei Tianyou nodded, feeling reassured.
“But that’s not what I came to say,” Bei Tianyou paused, then continued, “Tonight there will be a banquet at the main house. The Old Madam specifically asked me to invite you both to attend.”
Something flickered in Baili Xia’s mind.
She hadn’t expected Bei Tianyou to personally invite them to the banquet.
She had planned to visit the Youyang Pavilion in the evening, but if she went to the banquet, wouldn’t it mean she might not be able to leave?
She was about to refuse when Bei Tianyou spoke again.
“You must come tonight. There will be a surprise prepared for you. I’m sure you’ll be pleased when you see it.”
After saying that, he glanced at Mu Xiaoyao.
Mu Xiaoyao, sensing his gaze, naturally knew what “surprise” Bei Tianyou was referring to.
“A surprise? Just for me?” Baili Xia’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“We’ll go,” Mu Xiaoyao’s calm voice interjected before Bei Tianyou could respond.
Bei Tianyou understood immediately—Mu Xiaoyao had no intention of telling Baili Xia that Mu Xiaojiu would be arriving tonight.
“Alright then, I’ll leave you to it. See you tonight.”
With that, he turned and headed out.
