Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1309
“Xiaxia, I’m stepping out for a bit.”
Nangong Xu didn’t know what he’d just seen, but after saying this, he walked out without hesitation.
He didn’t even glance back.
Bei Yulin furrowed her brows, instantly losing any good impression toward him.
This feeling extended—it made her start to dislike Baili Xia as well.
“Is it true that her medical skills are so renowned, or is it all just empty hype? Brother, you need to keep your eyes sharp and see through this.”
A woman this beautiful moving into the Bi Luo Pavilion, under the pretense of treating someone—what’s her real intent?
Who could say?
Bei Tianyou was never fond of meddling in the disputes between women, but Baili Xia was still a guest, and he couldn’t simply ignore the situation.
He looked down at Bei Yulin and spoke calmly, “You’ve had too much to drink.
Go join the others.”
“Brother, I’m not a child.
Why should I play around?”
Bei Yulin’s delicate brows knitted even tighter.
Baili Xia grew impatient and, after nodding politely at Bei Tianyou, turned to leave.
She had no idea where her mentor might have gone, nor where Brother had disappeared to.
In such a setting, without a single familiar face nearby, she felt incredibly uneasy.
Though she was somewhat acquainted with Bei Tianyou, he was the host—it was different.
He still had others to attend to.
Seeing that Baili Xia was about to leave, Bei Yulin immediately shifted her steps, blocking her path.
“What’s this?
Leaving without even saying goodbye, with such a sullen face?
People might think I bullied you.”
“Well, if you’re stopping me from leaving, wouldn’t that count as bullying me?” Baili Xia asked indifferently.
Bei Yulin froze, completely unprepared for this seemingly delicate beauty to fire back with such sharp words.
“Brother, it seems you’ve really found yourself a gem.” It only took a single sentence for Bei Yulin to reconsider her opinion of Baili Xia.
This girl… she wasn’t flattering, nor arrogant, nor fake.
Not bad at all.
“Xiaxia is only here with her cousin to treat Grandmother,” Bei Tianyou said.
His face remained expressionless, but a hint of impatience was detectable.
His half-sister had always been fiery by nature since childhood.
While it usually wasn’t a big deal, seeing her latch onto Baili Xia like this was starting to irk him.
After all, Baili Xia was his guest.
He was about to interject when a disdainful voice suddenly rang out, “Cousins? Is that what you really think?”
Nangong Yun appeared, her flowing gown of the same vivid purple as Baili Xia’s.
Looking at Baili Xia, who wasn’t wearing a single valuable accessory, Nangong Yun let out a snide scoff.
“Do you know? Vivid purple demands a sense of grandeur to pull it off.”
She, who had once prided herself on grace, felt all that elegance vanish in the face of Baili Xia after their previous encounter, where Baili Xia had dared to cross her.
Now, Nangong Yun only wished she could strip her skin and drink her blood!
Elegance?
Could that fill a stomach?
What she needed now was release—everything else be damned!
Even Bei Tianyou had not anticipated Nangong Yun’s total disregard for appearances.
However, her ridicule toward Baili Xia made Bei Tianyou’s gaze darken considerably.
“Fan Yi,” Bei Tianyou called out calmly.
Fan Yi emerged from some unseen corner and responded softly, “I’m here, Young Master.”
“Head to my room in the main house and bring the Purple Flame from the safe.”
“Understood.” Fan Yi turned and left without delay.
Bei Yulin instantly grew nervous.
“Brother, why are you asking Fan Yi to bring the Purple Flame? What… are you planning to do?”
Bei Tianyou, however, simply looked at Baili Xia, his gaze softened slightly.
“Apologies. I only remembered to prepare your outfit but forgot the accessories. The Purple Flame will be here shortly. I hope you’ll forgive the oversight.”
