Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1313
The necklace resting on her neck shone dazzlingly bright, yet, in this moment, Baili Xia’s gaze held only her master.
She looked at Nangong Xu, her heart brimming with countless emotions, but what remained was a warm and tender look in her eyes.
No matter what he had gone through in the past, from now on, he would never be alone.
Because he had her, Mr.
Xiaojiu, and Brother.
Everyone—together—they were a family.
Nangong Xu finally let go of his lingering worries.
To be angry over someone else’s mistakes—that is a punishment for oneself.
Why bother?
“Purple Flame truly looks stunning. Using it to highlight my cousin’s beauty—it suits her perfectly.”
He glanced at Bei Tianyou, unaffected by whether his words carried a hint of self-praise or not.
He said casually, “Thank you.”
“It’s me who should be thanking you instead.” Bei Tianyou nodded lightly.
The polite exchange between the two men swiftly restored the banquet’s atmosphere to normalcy.
Nangong Yun, however, could not suppress her disdain and seemed ready to stir up trouble, only to be dragged away by Bei Yulin.
One could hardly fathom what had gotten into the woman tonight—she had utterly disgraced the Bei Family.
If she wanted to lose her mind, she should do it back in the Nangong Family!
“You actually helped them bully me!” Nangong Yun glared angrily at Bei Yulin as she was pulled away, fury blazing in her eyes.
“Don’t forget, you’re just the daughter of a mistress!
You’re not qualified to inherit the Miao Domain!”
“So what?” Bei Yulin raised an eyebrow, utterly undeterred.
“Even if I’m not qualified, my surname is still Bei.”
“And you, a woman with the surname Nangong, causing chaos in our Bei Family—is there something wrong with you?”
“You…”
“I couldn’t care less about you.” Bei Yulin turned on her heel, intending to seek out Nangong Xu again.
But Nangong Xu was still staying close to his cousin, engaged in conversation with Bei Tianyou.
Approaching him now would seem inappropriate—there wasn’t any excuse left for her.
Yet, Mr.
Nangong was so enchanting…
From afar, as she gazed at his figure, a blush rose swiftly to her cheeks.
This man—she was determined to have him!
…
Mu Xiaoyao finally returned after “disappearing” for the better part of an hour.
“Brother!” Baili Xia dragged him aside and immediately began her complaints.
“Where have you been? I’ve been waiting for you for so long!”
Knowing full well they had something special planned for tonight, how could he leave her behind at a time like this and wander off on his own?
Glancing at the time, the banquet was about wrapping up.
Shouldn’t they be leaving by now?
Baili Xia shot Mu Xiaoyao a meaningful look, but he acted as though he hadn’t seen it, merely keeping his gaze fixed on the grand doors of the banquet hall.
“Brother, I’m not feeling well. I want to go home and rest,” she said straightforwardly, abandoning subtle hints.
Her infuriating brother—what was running through his mind?
“Alright,” Mu Xiaoyao nodded.
He agreed, yet remained still, showing no signs of departing nor taking any action to leave.
Baili Xia was still in a state of puzzlement when she suddenly sensed something unusual about the atmosphere within the banquet hall.
The crowd was stirring, and it seemed as though someone significant had arrived—their attention converging entirely on the banquet’s grand doors.
She even caught the sound of soft gasps from some of the girls present.
A scene like this—a moment like this—why did it feel so strangely familiar?
She had encountered such an occurrence more than once before.
Typically, the only person capable of eliciting this kind of response was…
By the grand doors, as Mu Xiaojiu’s tall figure entered her line of sight, Baili Xia’s breath hitched, and she froze completely.
Uncle… Why was it Uncle?
How could he appear here?
The surprise they mentioned—could it be Uncle?
