“As long as you’re aware!” Baili Xia glared at him, angrily.

Mu Xiaojiu chuckled softly, his body pressing closer to hers.

“Not only can I say it, I can also do it.

Want to give it a try?”

“You…!” Utterly shameless to the point of absurdity!

“Try anything funny again, and I won’t show you any mercy!” She pushed the bracelet against his waist—wasn’t he afraid?

The bracelet contained a sedative needle.

With just a gentle press, she could knock him out instantly.

Did he really have no fear?

“This bracelet is too troublesome. Have your friend improve it later.”

Before she could react, Mu Xiaojiu’s large hand had already gripped her wrist, lifting her small hand.

She said nothing, yet silently stared at his face in the darkness.

Even though she didn’t want to admit it, she had to concede that his way of thinking was unmatched at times.

If he said the bracelet could be better, then there surely were areas for improvement.

“Look,” Mu Xiaojiu took hold of her other hand but released the hand with the bracelet.

“Just like now. If I grab this hand of yours, even though you still have another hand free, you wouldn’t be able to use the bracelet against me.”

Baili Xia stared wide-eyed at her now-free right hand.

It seemed…

he was right again.

Without her left hand controlling it, her right hand alone was completely useless.

“Have that girl Xiaoxiao put in more effort, and add a mechanism beneath the bracelet.”

Taking up her right hand again, his slender fingers wandered across her palm and between her own.

“Your fingers are long.

If she adds a mechanism under the bracelet, your own fingers could easily reach it, allowing you to operate the bracelet’s mechanisms yourself.”

“A hidden weapon that requires two hands to operate inherently gives the enemy an opening.”

“Think about it: who uses both hands to deploy a hidden weapon?

That would make their actions too obvious, wouldn’t it?”

His words silenced Baili Xia completely.

If Xiaoxiao could truly add something beneath the bracelet so she could control it with just her right hand, then of course, that would be ideal.

If her sleeves were long enough, she’d only need to subtly lift her finger to unleash the hidden weapon seamlessly.

Even if she acted, most people wouldn’t be able to detect it.

This is truly brilliant.

Baili Xia’s eyes sparkled with faint hints of excitement as she looked up at him.

Although she felt a bit grateful for his guidance, his wickedness made it impossible for her to express her thanks.

“No need to thank me with words. What I prefer is for you to repay me with your body.”

Mu Xiaojiu’s smile took on a mischievous edge, as if he could see right through her thoughts.

Baili Xia continued to bite her lip and refused to say anything.

Because she realized—talking to this man was akin to digging her own grave.

No matter what she said, he’d turn it around in a way that left her speechless.

“What’s wrong? Have nothing to say after all this time apart? Rare chance to meet—do you have nothing you want to tell me?”

The man’s deep, magnetic voice washed over her from above.

So alluring, so seductive—it was all too easy to get swept away without realizing it.

But tonight, she was resolute.

No matter what he said or did, she wouldn’t allow herself to fall for him.

Perhaps he’d noticed that she was markedly different tonight—her self-control was leagues beyond what it used to be.

Initially, Mu Xiaojiu had simply come over on impulse to check on her and tease her a bit.

But now, his mood grew inexplicably heavy.

Could it be…

she’d started learning how not to be affected by him?
