Tossing and turning in bed for over ten minutes, she still couldn’t fall asleep.

She wasn’t sure if everything happening early in the morning had made her too excited, but she felt no hint of sleepiness, and her stomach had started growling.

The feeling of being both exhausted and hungry was truly uncomfortable.

Since she couldn’t sleep, she might as well go fill her stomach.

Thinking this, Baili Xia got up again, changed into a set of clothes, and went out.

It was still early, so there was breakfast available in the restaurant.

Baili Xia had just entered the restaurant when she saw Xu finishing his meal and preparing to leave.

Seeing her enter, he sat back down.

Obviously, he had something to say to Baili Xia.

Understanding this, Baili Xia quickly walked over to the seat opposite Xu and sat down.

After instructing a servant to bring some breakfast over, she looked at Xu and asked.

“Master, were you looking for me last night?”

Nangong Xu nodded, looked at her, and asked softly, “How is he?”

Baili Xia was slightly startled and was about to ask who he was referring to, but suddenly realized that Nangong Xu must be talking about the one she accompanied last night.

“Brother You is fine, it’s just that his subordinates ran into trouble, and he’s in a bad mood.”

“Hmm, this is an opportunity to win him over.”

Nangong Xu knew about what happened yesterday.

If they could help Bei Tianyou during a time like this, it would be beneficial for their plans in the future.

In Bei Miao, Baili Xia had no influence, and if…

she really were to do something in the future, at the very least, she should start by building up her influence.

Mr.

Xiaojiu hadn’t given any instructions, nor did he know what Mr.

Xiaojiu would ask Baili Xia to do in the future.

But, from Baili Xia’s master’s standpoint, he naturally hoped everything would be well for her.

Baili Xia merely nodded lightly without responding.

Seeing her seemingly indifferent to the matter, Nangong Xu also didn’t say more.

“For the next few days, I’ll be at the old man’s place.”

Baili Xia looked up at him, waiting for him to continue.

“The old man’s heart isn’t well; I need to stay there and take care of him.

If there’s an urgent matter, you can come to find me there.”

“Is the old man’s health poor?” Baili Xia’s face changed slightly, and she said nervously, “Can I go see him?”

Upon hearing that the old man had heart issues, Baili Xia was a bit worried.

Heart problems are no small matter, and any accident could potentially be fatal.

Although Baili Xia hadn’t acknowledged her relationship with the old man, seeing him sparked a familial bond that deeply affected her.

Knowing he had heart issues made her unable to resist the urge to visit him.

“It’s not the right time now.” Nangong Xu said.

Seeing the unease on her face, he comforted her, “I’ll arrange for you to visit him when there’s a chance.”

Baili Xia nodded, understanding the rationale, although she was eager to meet the old man.

The old man was already in his later years, but thanks to years of good medication, he still didn’t look too aged.

However, medicine has its drawbacks; outwardly he might appear young, but how his body truly was, only they would know best.

The family that specializes in pharmaceuticals…

maintaining an image always comes at a price.

After Baili Xia finished her meal, Nangong Xu left the restaurant with her.

Knowing Nangong Xu was heading to the old man’s place, Baili Xia bid him farewell after stepping outside.

After Nangong Xu left, she didn’t return to her room to catch up on sleep but instead headed straight to Bei Tianyou’s room.

Entering the inner chamber, she saw Bei Tianyou still asleep.

She walked back out and sat down on the sofa in the living room.

Bei Tianyou was truly tired, his heart worn out.

After so many years, finally having a chance to sleep soundly was rare.

Given such a rare moment, she decided to let him rest well.

But peace seems never to belong to such big figures.

Baili Xia had just sat down when there was a knock-knock-knock knocking on the door from outside…
