“Uncle, my gift is ready!”

Just as Mu Xiaojiu suddenly bowed his head, Baili Xia immediately called out.

“Do you still want it or not? If not, then forget it?”

Mu Xiaojiu paused and looked down at her.

Clearly flustered, she was using the gift as an excuse.

However, he was indeed waiting for it.

This was…

the first gift he ever wanted to receive in his life.

“Where is the gift?” If he found out she deliberately deceived him, tonight he’d definitely peel her skin here…

no, her clothes.

Of course, even if there was no deception, the clothes could still be peeled off.

“Here.” Baili Xia handed the phone she was holding in her hand to him, “It’s inside.”

“Inside?” Mu Xiaojiu took the phone with some skepticism.

But it was still his phone, nothing had changed.

Where was the gift?

His eyes instantly darkened: “Little girl, trying to trick me?”

“No way!” How could she deceive him?

Of course, even with immense courage, she wouldn’t dare!

“Hold on.” She rummaged through her jacket and finally fished out her phone.

Under Mu Xiaojiu’s puzzled gaze, she unlocked her phone and dialed his number.

“…Who says the wind knows not the hardships of the world, the flowers know not the sorrows of life? Who doesn’t know the cold nights, where the lonely wind weeps and the flowers mournfully wither…”

Once the call connected, a somewhat tender yet sensually charming voice resonated from Mu Xiaojiu’s phone.

The singing wasn’t particularly good, one could say it completely lacked technical skill.

However, the crisp voice somehow pierced deeply into one’s heart.

“…Do you know, in thousands of nights, I think of you alone… the mountain has trees and branches, my heart adores you, but you don’t know, you don’t know…”

The call automatically ended, and the singing stopped, yet Mu Xiaojiu didn’t speak for a long time, without making any movement.

“…How is it? Not… not unpleasant, right?” Baili Xia had decided she’d treat it as a gift from her to him anyway.

If Uncle thought it was unpleasant, he could quickly change the ringtone, that would mean he didn’t want it, not that she didn’t give it.

But now, she was inexplicably nervous.

What if Uncle really thought it was unpleasant…

OMG!

How could she have been so confident while recording?

Where did the confidence come from?

Why wasn’t Uncle speaking?

Why was there no reaction from him?

“Un…cle…” The waiting time felt so long, so uneasy…

“Try dialing again.” Suddenly, he quietly spoke.

Baili Xia didn’t know what he wanted to do but could only follow his words and dialed his number again.

“…Who says the wind knows not the hardships of the world…”

The song once again echoed on the mountaintop, and he just tightly held her in his arms, saying nothing.

Every time it reached “my heart adores you, but you don’t know, you don’t know…” the ringtone would almost stop.

“Dial again.” The deep male voice resounded from above her.

Baili Xia dialed over and over, initially really not understanding what he was thinking, but gradually, she quieted down with him.

It seemed she somewhat understood.

“My heart adores you, but you don’t know,” is merely a lyric, yet in this atmosphere, it seemed…

like a confession.

She truly never thought about, nor could she possibly take the initiative to tell him she liked him.

But, is this really what her heart thinks?

Does she like him, but does he really know?
