Mu Xiaoyao finally stopped and looked back at Baili Xia.

Seeing her face a bit pale, not knowing if it was discomfort or unease, his gaze softened.

“Don’t worry, go back and rest well, remember, be careful.”

Baili Xia moved her lips, but this time, she didn’t ask again.

Brother indeed had to leave Bei Miao, but this matter, probably couldn’t be told to others.

Uncle asked Brother to leave here, yet didn’t let anyone know, what exactly are they plotting?

…

Mu Xiaoyao eventually left, without explanations, and without extra words.

Only when he was about to leave did he turn back and gave her a look.

Perhaps, Baili Xia could guess what that look represented.

No need to ask more, just trust.

Trust Brother, trust Uncle, it’s good this way.

Watching Mu Xiaoyao’s departing figure, Baili Xia took quite a while to gather her thoughts, then opened the door and went inside.

After talking with Mu Xiaoyao for a while, the pain in her chest seemed to intensify.

Returning to the room, she closed the door, took out her medical kit, and consumed some medicine.

Then she took out silver needles from the needle bag and punctured a few points on her chest.

Self-administering the needles, her technique not very proficient, indeed a healer cannot heal themselves.

Yet, it was slightly better than before.

After a while, her chest felt much more comfortable, she removed and stored the needles, before lying down on the bed.

She had a difficult day.

By now she couldn’t bother to change clothes or freshen up, just wanted to lie in bed properly.

She knew she could only temporarily alleviate the pain, that to fully recover, it would take much longer.

Not long after lying in bed, she fell into a deep sleep.

Perhaps due to tiredness, or perhaps because of the physical pain, this sleep was far from restful.

Her body kept tossing and turning, her mind remained in a daze.

At times dreaming of Mu Xiaojiu leaving her side, at other times dreaming of Guisu wanting to harm her again.

Sometimes, she would dream of Sima Liuyue using some demon art she couldn’t even understand, controlling Guisu.

Afterwards, planning to harm him…

Finally, after one nightmare, she abruptly opened her eyes and sat up from the bed.

“No!” she shouted, her face and body drenched in cold sweat: “Guisu run, she’s not a good person!”

The quiet room, only her voice echoed.

Baili Xia wiped away sweat, her consciousness barely returning to her mind.

The room was dark, it was already night, with only faint moonlight spilling in through the window.

Baili Xia reached out and gently wiped away tears that had unknowingly trickled from her eyes, and sat up from the bed.

She reached and touched her chest, though still a bit sore, it wasn’t as painful as before.

Only her stomach felt a bit hungry, she planned to go down and find something to eat.

Just as she got down from the bed and walked two steps towards the door, suddenly, there was a black shadow sitting prominently on the sofa by the door.

“Who?” Baili Xia was startled, quickly retreating two steps.

Trying hard to see clearly who was sitting there, but there was no window on the side the sofa was placed, and moonlight couldn’t shine there.

“Don’t panic, it’s me.” A low voice came from the black shadow.

This voice Baili Xia was very familiar with, even if the speaker had said very few words.

Her breathing became chaotic, after a moment she softly said: “Guisu, how are you?”
