Wu Ming glanced indifferently at the girl standing nearby.

She glared at him, indignation written all over her face, waiting for an explanation.

But explanations were exactly what he disliked the most.

“What are you shouting about? I just came closer, how was I supposed to know what you were shouting?” he snorted.

“Well, weren’t you clear enough later on? I was calling for someone else, not you. Why did you come over?”

Baili Xia glared at him, not willing to relent when she was in the right.

Wu Ming really wanted to pin her down and end this nonsense, yet he was still here enduring the pain, wasting words on her.

This girl had guts; she didn’t know who he was and yet dared to openly challenge him!

Would she believe him if he removed the mask and immediately pinned her down to fiercely punish her ignorance?

“You were the one who pulled me, asking me not to leave.” He snorted again.

That was indeed the case; she hugged him, calling him Uncle, begging him not to go.

Since she requested so much, how could he deny her?

Doesn’t satisfy his own woman—what kind of man is he then?

“You’re talking nonsense!” How could she do that?

Wu Ming glanced at her indifferently again, too lazy to argue further.

“But, then why, why did you kiss me this morning?”

Don’t think she hadn’t noticed; waking up in the morning, she clearly felt him holding her tightly and seemingly moving in for a kiss.

It was his sudden approach that startled her into kicking him away, which led him to grab her foot and pull her over, making her fall onto him.

Yes, replaying the whole incident, that was the truth.

“Haven’t you heard that men are particularly prone to impulse when waking up in the morning?”

Wu Ming was almost running out of explanations; discussing this with women was really annoying.

“You mistook me for your Uncle, insisted on diving into my arms, I’m not a corpse.

By sparing you, I’ve already saved your dignity!”

He put on a stern expression, feigning indifference: “If you dare seduce me like this again, I will strip you bare immediately, don’t think I wouldn’t dare!”

“You… you bastard!”

“Try me!”

“You…”

“Shush, someone’s coming.” Wu Ming’s expression shifted slightly, his long finger pressed against his lips.

With his reminder, Baili Xia immediately became alert.

Sure enough, the door was soon knocked upon, and outside, Nangong Xu’s gentle voice sounded: “Xiaxia, open the door.”

“It’s Master.” Baili Xia was startled, turning back to Wu Ming: “What should we do?

Does he know you’re here?”

“Maybe… he knows.” Wu Ming replied, slightly unconcerned.

Baili Xia’s face sank, so does he know or not?

Wu Ming, however, gestured towards the door with his chin, signaling her to open it.

Baili Xia hesitated for a moment and finally walked to the door to open it.

“Master, so early?”

“It’s not early, I came to check how your injuries are healing.” Nangong Xu said as he followed her in.

Injuries… Baili Xia blinked; she had spent the whole night arguing with Wu Ming, not sparing a thought for her own injuries.

Now reminded by Nangong Xu, she suddenly realized that her chest didn’t actually hurt now!

“Master, your medical skills are amazing; it doesn’t hurt at all now.”

Baili Xia was filled with excitement, which then reminded her that there seemed to be another person present.

Letting her open the door meant Wu Ming was unconcerned about Nangong Xu knowing he was here.

“Master, he…”

Originally, she was about to say that if Master knew, then let Wu Ming and Master live together in the future.

But unexpectedly, when she turned around, she realized the room was empty—where was Wu Ming?

The French windows were open, the curtains fluttering in the breeze; yet, he…

was long gone.
