What’s more, Mu Lingchuan isn’t at the company this afternoon.

But even if he were in the company, every time Baili Xia sees him now, she just wants to kick him.

How could she possibly work for him?

“Unemployed,” Mu Xiaojiu teased.

Baili Xia rolled her eyes at him and said nothing.

Even though she knew he was joking with her, she wasn’t in the mood for jokes right now.

Seeing Baili Xia’s unhappy face, Mu Xiaojiu furrowed his eyebrows slightly.

“Come back to the office with me.”

Without waiting for her response, Mu Xiaojiu wrapped an arm around her shoulders and headed toward the Mu Group building.

The girls in the lobby were all bubbling inside, as they had been secretly watching Mr.

Xiaojiu’s every move.

Fortunately, these people all knew that Baili Xia was the Mu family’s Miss Sun, or else they might have cursed her a hundred times over in their hearts.

Although the Mu family knew that Ning Anran was still the current Miss Sun,

this hadn’t been made public, and since Baili Xia was always at the Mu family, things were a bit messy.

People could only define her based on her previous identity.

But upon seeing Mu Xiaojiu’s attitude toward Baili Xia, each of them couldn’t help but swoon.

Mr.

Xiaojiu was really nice, treating his juniors so gently.

But Baili Xia didn’t seem too happy, with a sullen face; I really wish I could take her place and be held in Mr.

Xiaojiu’s arms.

Of course, all these gazes full of either envy, jealousy, or admiration were automatically ignored by Mu Xiaojiu.

Mu Xiaojiu led Baili Xia to his car before stopping.

Once they were in the car, Mu Xiaojiu drove straight back to the Mu Group building.

Even walking between several office buildings required driving, which showed just how immense the Mu Group campus was.

Upon reaching Mu Xiaojiu’s office, Baili Xia sat heavily on the sofa, weighed down with worries, unwilling to say a word.

Mu Xiaojiu sat across from her, also on the sofa, and started making tea with the tea set.

When the tea was ready, he pushed a cup of tea in front of Baili Xia and suddenly asked, “Is the child Lingchuan’s?”

Baili Xia was startled; she had just agreed with Zimo not to tell anyone.

She thought she hadn’t mentioned it, so how did Uncle know so quickly?

Noticing her change in expression, Mu Xiaojiu smiled faintly.

“You’re too obvious; only a fool wouldn’t see it.”

Baili Xia was stunned.

Was she really that obvious?

Perhaps it was because she was too angry and tried hard to hide it but just couldn’t.

Seeing that Mu Xiaojiu had already guessed, Baili Xia had no choice but to plead with him.

“Uncle, please don’t tell anyone.

I promised Zimo I wouldn’t say a word.”

Mu Xiaojiu glanced at her and said blandly, “Are you begging me?”

Baili Xia rolled her eyes at him and secretly scorned him.

“Do I really need to beg you?”

“I don’t mind you begging me; I can even get something in return from you.”

Mu Xiaojiu’s gaze roamed over Baili Xia from bottom to top, finally settling on her cherry lips.

It was then that Baili Xia realized she had fallen into his trap.

Her face flushed a bit, and she deliberately lowered her voice: “Uncle, can we not joke about this?”

“I never joke. You tell me, are you going to come to my room tonight to exchange things, or do it here now?”

Baili Xia was completely taken aback; her initial displeasure was instantly replaced by a face full of shyness.

Uncle, you’re too wicked!

When he’s being deceitful, he can speak so confidently, it’s truly…

shameless!
