Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1592
Late at night, a hurried figure left the main house and quickly headed towards the Sihai Residence.
The news heard at the old man’s place tonight was definitely a bombshell.
Ning Anran had forgotten how late it was, focused only on quickly meeting Mr.
Xiaojiu to tell him everything.
When she arrived at Sihai Residence, Mu Xiaojiu had not yet rested and was discussing matters with Ye Hua on the sofa in the living room.
Seeing Ning Anran coming over so late, neither Mu Xiaojiu nor Ye Hua showed any surprise, as if they were expecting her.
“Mr. Xiaojiu.” Ning Anran greeted respectfully.
Mu Xiaojiu nodded slightly and did not pay further attention.
“Mr. Xiaojiu, the old man talked to me again tonight.”
Ning Anran paused, looking at Mu Xiaojiu, seemingly waiting for his response.
Mu Xiaojiu frowned slightly and calmly said, “Just say it, don’t keep us guessing.”
“The old man told me that he is actually Baili Yang, not related to you by blood, and he’s planning to deal with you.”
“He said he wants to seize all the shares of the Mu Group and give them to me later.”
After speaking, she looked at Mu Xiaojiu.
She expected Mu Xiaojiu to say something, but to her surprise, he simply responded with a soft “I know.”
Ning Anran felt a bit disappointed, but upon careful thought, she understood.
Since Mr.
Xiaojiu had already taken action, how could he not know the old man’s true identity?
Baili Yang’s intentions were probably already anticipated by Mr.
Xiaojiu.
There was no blood relation between them, nor any feelings; they probably both just wanted the other dead quickly.
Mr.
Xiaojiu was really formidable; how did he uncover Baili Yang’s secrets, hidden for over twenty years?
Seeing Mu Xiaojiu still calm and seemingly uninterested in her words.
Ning Anran thought for a moment, suddenly asking, “Mr. Xiaojiu, do you think… I should do something to him?”
No matter how good Baili Yang’s promises were to her, or how much power he offered her in the future, it was irrelevant to her.
She was a fake, and those things wouldn’t belong to her.
Moreover, she always harbored fantasies for Mr.
Xiaojiu; how could she possibly stand against him for something so unreal?
For Ning Anran now, the most important thing was helping Mr.
Xiaojiu overthrow the old man.
She believed that staying by the old man’s side gave her an absolute advantage.
“Mr. Xiaojiu, the old man’s health has always been poor; if we tamper with his food…”
She thought even if Mu Xiaojiu wouldn’t instruct her to do something, he would at least commend her initiative.
Unexpectedly, Mu Xiaojiu’s face turned cold before she finished and sternly said, “These things, you don’t need to worry about.”
“Oh.” Ning Anran responded softly, feeling a bit disappointed.
She might not do anything significant but still hoped to help him somehow.
At this critical moment, if the old man fell ill or his health failed, wouldn’t it be a great advantage for Mr.
Xiaojiu?
Why didn’t Mr.
Xiaojiu remember to use her at all?
As long as it was Mr.
Xiaojiu’s wish, even if being used, she would willingly comply.
Mu Xiaojiu said nothing more, and Ning Anran didn’t know what else to talk about.
The living room fell into a brief silence; no one spoke.
Ning Anran really wanted to say something, to chat more with Mu Xiaojiu, to spend more time with him.
To let him know her feelings were genuine, but she didn’t know where to start.
She really, really wanted to take the initiative to do something for him.
The feeling was almost as if she wanted to dedicate herself to him.
The thought made her incredibly happy.
