Be Gentle, My Master

Chapter 166: Uncle I'll Behave Myself 39_1

Playing the cool guy?

Mu Xiaoyao slightly opened his eyes, his gaze fell lightly on her.

Baili Xia knew she had overstepped again.

She should have let him sleep.

Why would she unnecessarily poke her nose?

In fact, calling him ‘cool’ was actually a misunderstanding?

They haven’t known each other for long, but it seems she had already started to understand him.

Her brother…was always as cold as ice, aloof and proud.

Mu Xiaoyao just lightly glanced at her and once again closed his eyes, ignoring her.

Baili Xia breathed a sigh of relief and continued removing the splinters from the back of his hands.

From time to time, she would raise her head to look at his facial expressions, fearing she would hurt him.

But, Mu Xiaoyao did not speak and continued his peaceful rest.

So indifferent, as if the wound wasn’t on his hand.

Finally, having gone through his hand thoroughly, she didn’t see any big splinters left.

Baili Xia looked at him: “There are still small ones inside.

I’ll press gently, if it hurts, tell me, alright?”

He didn’t answer and Baili Xia quieted down, only then did she notice his breathing had become steady.

Her brother…had actually fallen asleep!

What sort of person was he?

She carefully removed the splinters, fearing she would hurt him.

Yet, under these circumstances, he had fallen asleep contentedly.

Did he truly know no pain?

Or was he, indeed, a living being?

Looking at him, it was as though he had become as unresponsive as a wooden manikin!

With Mu Xiaoyao asleep, Baili Xia didn’t have the freedom to remove the remaining splinters her usual way.

She could only continue holding his hand, meticulously removing the splinters one by one.

After what felt like forever, when her waist began to feel numb from long hours of sitting, she finally felt satisfied that she had removed all the splinters.

Then, she cleansed and disinfected his wound and applied the medicine.

At last, when the disinfectant water fell on his skin, he didn’t even flinch.

“So, he feels the pain too,” she couldn’t help but mutter.

“Do you consider me as dead?” The man was still leaning on the sofa, not even opening his eyes.

Baili Xia jumped, suddenly realizing, he was awake?

“I’m applying medicine, it won’t hurt too much.” After disinfection, it is usually less painful to apply medicine.

However, while applying the medicine, she couldn’t help but lean in closer and blew gently on his hand after each dab of medicine.

Was it more like, wooing a child, blowing?

Mu Xiaoyao opened his eyes, watching Baili Xia diligently blowing on the back of his hand, a complex light glimmered in his eyes.

Only children believed that blowing on a wound could alleviate pain.

What good would it do for his pain if she acted this way?

Yet, despite thinking her foolish, seeing her completely engrossed in blowing at the back of his hand, stirred strange feelings within him.

Last night, he nearly strangled her to death.

Now, she took care of him so attentively…

Mu Xiaoyao didn’t expect himself, who always detested being close to women, to be so calm when his hand was held by her, with not a slightest urge of resistance.

He obviously…

didn’t notice until he thought about it, by which time, his hand had been touched by her for a long time.

Frowning slightly, he was about to retract his hand when the doorbell rang abruptly.

The eyes of the two naturally drifted towards the front door.

Having experienced the earlier events, Baili Xia instinctively retreated on the sofa.

She failed to notice that she sought refuge in his chest.

Mu Xiaoyao frowned, intending to push Baili Xia away, but seeing the flicker of panic in her eyes caused him to relent unconsciously.

This little one…was extremely timid!

“What are you afraid for?” He snorted coldly, “Go and see who it is.”
