In a certain room on the second floor of Sihai Residence, Mu Xiaojiu held Baili Xia’s hand and had been sitting by her bedside for three days and nights.

During these three days, he hadn’t slept or rested, constantly waiting for the girl to wake up.

But she seemed to be in a deep sleep, showing no signs of waking up at all.

What on earth did Lu Xuening do to her?

He was really afraid that she would continue to sleep like this forever.

The room door was gently pushed open, and Nangong Xu came in.

He walked to Baili Xia’s bedside and looked at Mu Xiaojiu, “Mr. Xiaojiu, go and rest for a while.”

Mu Xiaojiu didn’t respond, his gaze still fixed on Baili Xia’s serene sleeping face.

Nangong Xu sighed silently in his heart, put down the medical kit, pulled over the equipment placed by the bed, and started examining Baili Xia.

After checking her heartbeat, blood pressure, and various other indicators, he gently pricked Baili Xia’s finger, took a bit of blood, and placed it in a medical test tube.

Placing the medical test tube into the medical kit, he turned to look at Mu Xiaojiu’s back.

“Her body is not in serious trouble, but I don’t know why she can’t wake up.”

Mu Xiaojiu looked up to meet his gaze, his voice icy.

“What’s the use of saying this? I need to know exactly what’s going on.”

Nangong Xu felt a chill in his heart.

No wonder Mr.

Xiaojiu had been so irritable; these days, he was nearly driven to madness by this girl.

He also cared about this girl very much, and he too wanted to know the reason why Baili Xia couldn’t wake up.

But all of Baili Xia’s symptoms were so normal that he couldn’t find any clue.

“I suspect that Lu Xuening performed deep hypnosis on her, preventing her from waking up.”

“But Lu Xuening couldn’t do this before, so I’m not quite sure if it’s the reason.”

He could only share his suspicions with Mu Xiaojiu, even though this answer explained nothing.

Sure enough, Mu Xiaojiu’s eyes narrowed slightly, and a trace of anger flashed in his gaze when he looked at Nangong Xu.

“Is this your way of showing concern for her? Go investigate! Read books! Find a way!”

By the end, his words were practically a roar.

Nangong Xu sighed silently.

Even if he goes to investigate, read books, and find a way, it’s not something he can learn in a short time.

But right now, there’s someone in dire condition in front of him.

He looked at Mu Xiaojiu’s clothes still stained with blood, feeling a slight ache in his heart.

“Your wound should be checked too. Come with me to the medical room.”

Since Mu Xiaojiu had rescued Baili Xia and returned, he hadn’t used any anesthesia and directly let Nangong Xu remove the bullet.

He had done a simple bandage and then never cared for the wound again, nor changed his clothes, always staying here.

“It’s unnecessary,” Mu Xiaojiu said coldly, not leaving any room for consideration.

“If you continue like this, the wound could become infected, and in severe cases, your arm could become useless.”

Nangong Xu knew well that Mr.

Xiaojiu never listened to advice.

As long as Baili Xia remained unconscious, he didn’t want to care about anything, not even himself.

But no matter how strong, he was ultimately just a flesh-and-blood person.

As a doctor, Nangong Xu was truly heartbroken.

“Do you want her to wake up to find one-armed Uncle?”

Mu Xiaojiu did not respond, his gaze eternally stayed on Baili Xia, with nothing but coldness on his face, not a hint of any other expression.

But that was enough, at least he hadn’t outright refused.

However, it was unlikely he would follow him to the medical room.

Nangong Xu, feeling helpless, reopened the medical kit and took out his tools.
