Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1758
“Yes, Mr. Xuri is right. I will certainly remember his words.”
Ye Hua smiled but still stood in front of Baili Xia and Zimo, standing tall and straight.
Mu Xuri snorted coldly, unwilling to stoop to the level of a servant.
“Where’s Jiu?
Let him come out and meet me.”
“Mr.
Xiaojiu is still resting…”
As Ye Hua and Mu Xuri confronted each other, Baili Xia quickly pulled Zimo aside.
She asked softly, “The man in the wheelchair looks formidable, who is he?”
Although Ye Hua protected them, it was evident that Ye Hua indeed respected this man.
Whether the respect was genuine or not, at least on the surface, Ye Hua dared not break ties with him.
Ye Hua, being by Uncle’s side, should already be a formidable figure, yet he treated the man with such respect.
The man’s status and position were imaginable.
Zimo looked at her and then at Mu Xuri.
Only then did he lean toward her ear and say, “This is Mr.
Xuri, Mr.
Xiaojiu’s brother.
You should call him Uncle.”
“Uncle?” Baili Xia murmured.
So, this is Uncle’s brother, but he looks completely different from Uncle’s gentle nobility.
He’s too cold and terrifying, even with a hint of gloominess.
Just as this thought flashed through Baili Xia’s mind, suddenly, a sharp gaze fell on her, making her heart skip.
She looked up, only to lock eyes with Mu Xuri.
“Come here,” Mu Xuri said coldly.
Without pointing, Baili Xia knew he was speaking to her.
She hesitated, contemplating whether to approach him.
He seemed truly dangerous.
Yet, he was Uncle’s brother; not approaching might seem too disrespectful.
After a moment of hesitation, she made up her mind to go.
Zimo held onto her, unwilling to let go, and followed along.
Standing before Mu Xuri, Baili Xia bowed slightly and said softly, “Uncle.”
Mu Xuri was taken aback, his eyebrows furrowed softly.
He hadn’t expected Baili Xia’s attitude toward him would change so drastically.
She had never called him that.
From the first meeting, there was already deep-seated animosity between them.
Baili Xia’s hatred for him was not something that could be erased in a day or two.
Why had she suddenly changed?
Mu Xuri sneered, “Is that ‘Uncle’ sincerely meant by you?”
He couldn’t believe Baili Xia would suddenly show him respect.
Baili Xia’s eyes reflected confusion, as if she didn’t understand why Mu Xuri spoke this way.
He was Uncle’s brother, what was wrong with calling him Uncle?
From his meaning, did it imply there was an issue between them?
Mu Xuri saw she didn’t respond and wanted to say something.
Just as he was about to speak, Mu Xiaojiu’s deep voice resonated from the hall: “Third Brother.”
Before the person arrived, the voice preceded, followed by Mu Xiaojiu striding forward.
He then said blandly, “Why come to my place early in the morning to tease two girls?”
Mu Xuri looked at him indifferently, and the coldness on his face instantly dissipated.
At this moment, Baili Xia felt less pressured, seeing Mu Xiaojiu, as if suddenly finding a savior.
She hurriedly tugged Zimo’s hand, pulling her behind Mu Xiaojiu.
Instinctively, she felt that with Uncle here, he would surely help her.
Mu Xiaojiu felt a slight stir in his heart, surprised that this girl sought his protection at the first sign of danger.
At least she remembered his guardianship…
A sudden impulse surged in his heart, wishing to hold the girl tightly in his arms.
This time, if he held her, he would never let go!
