Zimo didn’t respond; how could there ever be enough conversation when she was with Xiaxia?

Someone who usually wouldn’t utter more than half a word to anyone would only find the tool of language again when she saw Xiaxia.

She stood up, and gently said to Baili Xia, “Well, I’m going back now.”

Baili Xia nodded, a hint of a smile appearing on her face.

“Okay, I’ll let you go back to reunite with them, I won’t take up any more of your time.”

Seeing a trace of reprimand in Zimo’s eyes, she chuckled, went over to support Zimo, and prepared to escort her out.

Mu Lingchuan quietly followed behind Zimo, always maintaining a safe distance from her.

After leaving the courtyard of Sihai Residence, the three of them chatted as they walked towards the main house.

After a few steps, Baili Xia suddenly stopped.

A flicker of unease crossed her eyes, and she looked up at Zimo, seemingly wanting to say something.

Zimo turned to look at Mu Lingchuan and immediately understood that Xiaxia had something to say, but didn’t want Mu Lingchuan to hear.

She quickly tugged on her hand, and the two of them slowly walked to the side of the road.

Mu Lingchuan perceptively halted in place without following them.

He had no interest in eavesdropping on the private conversations between two girls.

Of course, even without going over, with his hearing, he could hear perfectly well from that distance.

Once they reached the roadside, Baili Xia glanced at Mu Lingchuan in the distance.

Then she softly said to Zimo, “Zimo, I feel like that Third Uncle doesn’t seem like a good person. You must be cautious living over there at the main house.”

So, this was what she wanted to say.

Baili Xia was worried because Mu Lingchuan was also part of the Mu family, and she feared he would be displeased if she spoke ill of his family in front of him.

Zimo nodded lightly, whispering, “I know, don’t worry about me.”

After a pause, she added, “You should also watch out for him.”

Baili Xia felt relieved, nodding as she took Zimo back to Mu Lingchuan’s side.

The three of them continued walking towards the main house.

After a few steps, Mu Lingchuan suddenly spoke plainly, “I’ve arranged for a separate courtyard to be prepared. Next year, we’ll move there.”

Baili Xia’s heart trembled slightly, realizing only then that her earlier conversation with Zimo had indeed been overheard by her elder brother.

She looked at Mu Lingchuan with a touch of guilt, but Mu Lingchuan’s eyes were calm, showing no displeasure.

“Once we’re in the new courtyard, we’ll live our own lives, without getting mixed up with others,” Mu Lingchuan continued.

He hadn’t intentionally eavesdropped on their conversation, but because it concerned Zimo, he didn’t want her to feel uneasy.

It was customary in the Mu family to have a separate courtyard after getting married, just like the First and Second Masters.

However, he hadn’t previously considered the implications of Zimo living in the main house.

Baili Xia’s reminder made him also realize the issue.

The Mu family now wasn’t the same as before; the head of the main house had changed.

Furthermore, with marriage on the horizon, many matters required more thorough consideration.

Baili Xia gave Mu Lingchuan a light smile, finally feeling at ease.

After a few more steps, Zimo stopped.

She looked at Baili Xia, and softly said, “Xiaxia, you should go back now, no need to walk me any further.”

She knew that if she didn’t send Xiaxia back, she would probably escort her all the way to her room.

But living in the main house was Mr.

Xuri, whom even she didn’t want to see.

Although Mu Lingchuan hadn’t told her about the happenings in the Mu Group, she could guess that Mu Xuri and Baili Yang were definitely involved.

Earlier at Sihai Residence, it was clear to see that Mu Xuri was not friendly towards Xiaxia.

Sending Baili Xia to the main house, if by chance she encountered Mu Xuri, there was real concern he might give her a hard time.
