After deciding on Xiaoxiao’s stay, Baili Xia immediately asked, “Xiaoxiao, do you still need to buy anything?”

Xiaoxiao shook her head, raised her hand and waved the bags she was holding, saying, “I’ve already finished shopping.”

“Then let’s go eat together, shall we?”

These words were directed at Mu Xiaojiu, seeking his consent.

Mu Xiaojiu nodded faintly, with the New Year approaching, many matters had been put aside, and time seemed more plentiful.

There was still time to have a meal outside.

“What do you feel like eating?” Baili Xia asked Xiaoxiao.

Speaking of food, Xiaoxiao, being a huge foodie, immediately got excited: “How about we eat spicy hot pot?

It’s been a while.”

“No.” Baili Xia immediately rejected her proposal, “Uncle can’t eat spicy food.”

As soon as the words fell, Baili Xia began to wonder inside.

When did I know Uncle couldn’t eat spicy food?

How did I just blurt it out subconsciously?

Although Baili Xia found it a bit strange, when she looked at Mu Xiaojiu, she saw he didn’t deny it.

Mu Xiaojiu felt indescribably complicated, yet his face remained devoid of any extra expression.

Unexpectedly, the girl could still remember his preferences.

Some things may subtly take root deeply without realizing.

Baili Xia didn’t know why, and neither did Mu Xiaojiu, only that at this moment, there was a trace of emotion surging within.

But, it couldn’t be expressed.

Judging by the girl’s look, both she and Xiaoxiao obviously liked spicy hot pot.

Yet she immediately thought of him and refused Xiaoxiao’s suggestion.

Mu Xiaojiu’s heart warmed, and his gaze at her carried even more tenderness: “It’s okay, eating a little is no problem.”

Baili Xia looked up at him, softly speaking, “No, Uncle, you…”

She clearly remembered Uncle couldn’t eat spicy food, especially since…

“Oh, and there’s still the injury, how can you eat spicy food?”

“Mr. Xiaojiu, injured?” Xiaoxiao asked with a puzzled expression.

Mu Xiaojiu simply looked at her calmly without responding.

Baili Xia nodded, speaking softly, “Earlier… due to some incident, got a bit injured, but it’s no big deal now.”

Not wanting Xiaoxiao to ask too much since this was still outside, Baili Xia smiled lightly and gently nudged her.

“It’s alright, everything’s in the past.

But Uncle’s injury isn’t healed yet, so it’s better to avoid spicy food.”

“Okay, then we’ll choose another place.” Xiaoxiao nodded.

She grabbed Baili Xia and prepared to leave.

But just after taking a few steps, a sudden crashing sound came from upstairs in the atrium.

A sign at least two meters wide, responding to the crash, began to fall.

Right below were Mu Xiaojiu, Baili Xia, and Xiaoxiao!

Ye Hua had been sent to deliver something and wasn’t here at all.

In the distance, a few brothers were guarding, but now it was too late for them to come to the rescue.

In the blink of an eye, the sign was just a few meters above their heads.

Without any hesitation, Mu Xiaojiu extended his long arm to pull Baili Xia into his embrace, quickly rolling outward.

Unexpectedly, a force hit from behind.

Someone pushed them, hastening Mu Xiaojiu’s escape.

“Uncle! Xiaoxiao!” Baili Xia’s terrified voice accompanied the loud thud as the sign hit the ground.

Meanwhile, Mu Xiaojiu, holding Baili Xia, rolled onto the ground.

With a thud, the huge sign smashed solidly onto the ground behind the two of them.

Baili Xia shut her eyes tightly, bracing for a bruising fall.
