Actually, there’s nothing bad about being realistic, it’s just that it lessens a lot of fun.

Sometimes, people don’t really need to be too realistic.

Keeping a little wish, a bit of fantasy, isn’t that quite nice too?

“I don’t believe in that.” Sure enough, Mu Xiaoyao’s words confirmed Baili Xia’s thoughts.

Baili Xia suddenly felt a heaviness in her heart, not only because these two people are workaholics but also because of their inner loneliness.

Because of their inner loneliness, they only trust themselves.

“Everyone has things they can’t achieve, things they can’t obtain. A wish is a kind of hope, and with hope, one will strive, isn’t that right?” she said softly.

Mu Xiaoyao glanced at Mu Xiaojiu, whose gaze still rested on the girl, never leaving.

Uncle, perhaps he should have something he desires.

“What is your wish?” Mu Xiaoyao shifted his gaze back to Baili Xia and asked blandly.

Baili Xia’s lips curved into a faint smile and she replied, “My wish is…”

She paused, her gaze fixating on the bright moon outside.

The vast starry sky, dotted with stars, where occasionally a firework would bloom.

Suddenly, her expression seemed a bit lost, as if she were thinking of something particularly joyous.

“My wish is for our whole family to be healthy and happy, to always be able to live together.”

Mu Xiaojiu’s heart trembled suddenly, and his sharp eyebrows couldn’t help but knit as he looked at Baili Xia.

Family, this girl still considered them her family!

They are still family, just like before.

But, how long can the thought she holds in her heart last?

Baili Xia came back to her senses and playfully smiled at Mu Xiaojiu and Mu Xiaoyao.

“Alright, I’ve said my wish, now it’s your turn.”

But Mu Xiaojiu just looked at her without speaking, a trace of complexity passing in his eyes.

If wishes really worked, he hoped this girl could always remain like this, never thinking of the past.

But, is that possible?

Even when both Mu Xiaojiu and Mu Xiaoyao got thoroughly drunk, they never revealed what their New Year wishes were.

The night was cold.

One year was ending, and a new one beginning.

Hope that all would be well, that her dreams would come true.

Looking at the two drunken, staggering men before her, Baili Xia was still troubled.

Thinking about it, as Uncle is an elder, this time she decided to send Mu Xiaojiu back first.

Of course, she needed the help of servants, but female maids were definitely out of the question.

These two guys had a peculiar quirk, keeping all female life forms at bay.

Whoever dared to get close would suffer, either being kicked away or thrown out at random…

When dealing with drunk people, it’s really something you can’t take seriously.

Ye Hua came back midway and helped Baili Xia put Mu Xiaojiu back into the room.

“It’s rare to see Mr. Xiaojiu drink this much.” Looking at Mu Xiaojiu sleeping on the bed, Ye Hua couldn’t help but sigh.

“Is Uncle good at holding his liquor?” Baili Xia asked, taking a towel from the bathroom to wipe Mu Xiaojiu’s face.

Ye Hua nodded, “Very good, in short, he never gets drunk.”

Baili Xia didn’t say anything further, perhaps Uncle was especially happy tonight, which led to him drinking a bit too much.

Or maybe…

she didn’t know why, but felt like there was a lot of bitterness behind Uncle’s smile.

Perhaps, it was just her imagination.

“Ye Hua, you take care of him, I’m going to check on Brother.”

She placed the towel back before turning to leave.
