In the Bi Luo Pavilion, Baili Xia, still seated by the desk, was about to lose her patience when she finally heard a knock at the door.

“Who is it?” she called softly.

Outside, a strange female voice replied.

“Miss Xiaxia, Miss Yun asked me to bring you a late-night snack.”

Baili Xia was slightly taken aback and, in a flash, was at the door.

She opened the door to find a maid standing outside.

Upon seeing Baili Xia, the maid immediately gave a respectful bow.

“Miss Xiaxia, Miss Yun mentioned that yesterday, at the main house, there was a conflict with Miss Xiaxia, and Miss Yun is feeling…”

“Enough, do you have anything else to say?”

All those apologies were just a smokescreen.

Nangong Yun was quite cautious; having this maid deliver the message, even if questioned later, it was just to make amends with a bowl of sweet soup.

The maid blinked and shook her head, “Miss Yun didn’t instruct me otherwise.”

“Alright, put it down and you can leave.” Baili Xia waved her hand.

“Yes, Miss Xiaxia.”

The maid brought in the snack, immediately bowed to her, and exited the room.

Once the girl left, Baili Xia also quickly stepped out…

A few minutes later, Baili Xia was already outside the Youyang Pavilion.

However, she did not enter through the main entrance.

Compared to previous times, she was even more secretive this time.

She chose a path that was rarely visited and quietly climbed over the high wall.

The backyard was empty; she didn’t know where Nangong Yun wanted to meet her.

Sending a young maid to deliver some sweet soup hinted that the time had come, yet she never specified an exact location.

Baili Xia wasn’t in a rush to go inside and waited on the high wall.

She wasn’t foolish enough not to know that Nangong Yun had a scheme.

But this time, Baili Xia couldn’t figure it out.

Having waited so long, there was really no movement in the yard.

After ensuring that no one was following her, she leaped down from the high wall.

Indeed, there was no one in the backyard, but the hall in the main house at the front seemed… to have some commotion.

Through the door and windows, she faintly heard sounds of struggle inside.

Unable to enter through the front door, Baili Xia had to open the window.

She’d been inside this hall before; there wasn’t much surveillance, something she’d known for a long time.

Even though she knew someone was inside, Baili Xia didn’t rashly rush in.

Until she saw the person collapsed on the ground!

Her heart tightened; she could no longer care about anything else and climbed through the window.

“You…”

“Don’t come any closer!”

That hoarse voice was so familiar; Baili Xia’s heart tightened. Without thinking, she quickly walked over.

In the center of the hall, a shadowy figure lay on the ground, struggling painfully.

“Wu Ming…” Although there wasn’t any light, under the faint moonlight streaming in from outside the window, Baili Xia didn’t need to look closely to recognize him.

She immediately ran over and gently lifted Wu Ming from the ground.

“Wu Ming, what happened to you?”

Baili Xia nervously searched Wu Ming’s body, but there were no visible signs of injury.

Holding his strong body in her arms, she only felt how hot, how burning his body was.

She raised her hand to check Wu Ming’s forehead; it was scorching hot.

His eyes were dazed, as if he had lost consciousness, searching Baili Xia’s face.

“You…”

Wu Ming seemed to be enduring immense pain, his teeth clenched tightly, struggling even to speak.

Baili Xia looked around; there wasn’t a soul in sight.

But from the flower branches and leaves scattered on the ground outside, it was clear a fight had just occurred here.

Had Wu Ming fought with someone just now? Where was that person?

There was no time to think about that, saving him was the priority!

Wu Ming’s state clearly showed he had been drugged!
