Baili Xia gave a faint smile, unconcerned.

“What does it matter to me if you leave or not? Do you think I won’t investigate by myself? I’d rather you stay here forever.”

That carefree demeanor made it seem as if she truly wasn’t bothered by Nangong Yun’s threats.

Nangong Yun was a bit anxious, for Baili Xia might be her only hope of getting out.

If she doesn’t help, will she be trapped here forever?

She didn’t want to be imprisoned here forever; this place was no place for a person!

Taking a deep breath, Nangong Yun’s voice softened.

“Baili Xia, you can try and see if you can find anything out.”

“Not many people know about this, and they certainly won’t reveal a thing.”

“Without me, I’m afraid you’ll never know the truth.”

Baili Xia’s heart tightened; this was also her concern.

Everyone seemed intent on keeping many things from her, and she could see it.

When Guisu returned to Jin City, he couldn’t find out anything about her and Baili Yang’s relationship, showing just how deeply they had hidden it.

She didn’t know who to ask, or whom she could ask.

Brother and Master were both under Uncle, and so was Wu Ming.

Seeing Baili Xia contemplating seriously, Nangong Yun gained a slight glimmer of hope.

She continued, “You were previously kidnapped by Lu Xuening. Have you ever thought about why you lost those memories?”

Baili Xia looked up at her, a cold, doubtful gaze in her eyes.

Earlier, her Master had said that Lu Xuening had done something to her, possibly hypnotism, which caused her to lose her memory.

What did Nangong Yun mean by this? Could it be…

“What are you trying to say?” she asked coolly.

“I am Lu Xuening’s senior, so of course I know what method she used to make you forget the past.”

To make Baili Xia further believe her, she added, “Actually, it’s just a kind of hypnotism, and I have a way to help you unlock it.”

Baili Xia’s heart trembled at once. Could Nangong Yun really help her regain her memory?

Truthfully, she dared not fully trust her.

Even if there was an exchange of interests, it was hard to ensure Nangong Yun wouldn’t eventually harm her.

“Don’t worry, my purpose is definitely not for your good.”

Nangong Yun noticed her hesitation and sneered, “Only by remembering the past will you become so miserable that you won’t be able to live well.”

Baili Xia slightly raised her eyebrows, feigning indifference: “So you’re saying, if I remember, I won’t live well.”

“In that case, why would I want these memories?”

“You don’t want them? Haha! Baili Xia, do you really think you can fool me? If you didn’t want them, why did you come to me?”

Nangong Yun laughed out loud, abruptly changing her expression, becoming serious.

“Alright, no more beating around the bush. If you want your memories, get me out of here, otherwise, you’ll have to investigate on your own.”

Baili Xia didn’t speak, even though she knew that remembering those things might indeed be painful.

However, she couldn’t convince herself to live ignorant and blissful forever.

Lord Mu, Baili Yang, her grandfather… could she really forget all of this?

If her grandfather truly died unjustly in prison, then who was the culprit?

Uncle… No, despite the clouds of doubt, she still couldn’t bring herself to believe it.

The man who wasn’t afraid to bleed or get hurt for her, he surely wouldn’t have harmed her grandfather with his own hands.

If she doesn’t believe it, she might as well uncover the truth herself!
