Guisu’s eyebrows furrowed slightly: “Recover on her own?”

“I don’t know what’s going on either, she didn’t say. But, she probably wasn’t lying to me.”

Although Baili Xia didn’t understand Mrs. Xue well, she knew Mrs. Xue wouldn’t deceive her on this matter.

Otherwise, Mrs. Xue wouldn’t have even bothered to start with acupuncture.

Baili Xia shook her head and decided not to dwell on things she couldn’t understand for now.

Perhaps once her memory came back, everything would naturally become clear.

“By the way, I have something to ask you.”

Baili Xia’s bright eyes fell on Guisu.

Guisu immediately straightened his back and stood up straight.

“I heard from Brother You that it was you who poisoned Nangong Yun and Bei Zicheng?”

Guisu nodded, admitting it.

“I heard from the Old Madam that when she arrived there, they both immediately woke up.”

“Did you intentionally not give them a strong dose?”

Baili Xia had always had this question in her mind, but later didn’t have the chance to ask.

Yesterday afternoon in the main house, when questioned by Bei Qingyue, about what if it was too late and they really harmed Nangong Yun, she casually said Wu Ming was watching, so nothing would happen.

But the real reason wasn’t that at all.

Guisu frowned, a trace of disgust flashing in his eyes.

“Those two, like I care if they live or die!”

“I wish they could keep going and get caught red-handed.”

Baili Xia’s heart tightened; Guisu wouldn’t lie to her.

If he said so, then that’s his true thought.

Nangong Yun and Bei Zicheng wanted to harm Baili Xia, if they fell into Guisu’s hands, wouldn’t that be courting death?

But, without giving them a lighter poison, how could they wake up easily with those good medicines from Bei Tianyou?

Yet, they… they really did wake up.

Otherwise, the Old Madam would definitely have seen they were poisoned.

What on earth… is going on?

Could it be that someone was secretly helping them?

But if they really wanted to help them, why not take them away directly instead of waiting for the Old Madam to catch them in the act?

Looking at it this way, it doesn’t seem like they really wanted to help…

Baili Xia found herself getting confused.

“What’s wrong?” Seeing her doubt, Guisu asked.

Baili Xia shook her head; she really couldn’t figure this out.

Could it be that Brother You discovered Guisu’s intention, so he deliberately gave a weaker medicine?

But that’s also impossible, when Guisu went to get the medicine, Brother You didn’t even know what he was going to do.

Besides, Brother You had no reason to intentionally switch the medicines.

“I don’t know how they suddenly woke up right when the Old Madam arrived.”

“They must have just gotten really lucky.” Guisu’s lips curved slightly, with a hint of disdain.

Baili Xia’s forehead had a black line appearing, and she shook her head gently.

Let’s just think of it that way for now.

“Guisu, there’s something else I want to ask you.”

Baili Xia’s face turned serious: “Am I really Baili Yang’s granddaughter?”

Although Mrs. Xue said that after some time her memory could recover and she could remember on her own.

But now, she couldn’t help asking Guisu for an answer.

“Before, Baili Yang did recognize you as his granddaughter, but later he recognized Ning Anran instead.”

“I don’t know what happened in between.”

Guisu calmly spoke, honestly sharing the information he had heard.

Before, he didn’t want to tell Baili Xia about these things, as they would surely make her unhappy.

But now, since she was eager to investigate herself, if he didn’t tell her, he was worried she might encounter danger.

That, he would never allow to happen!
