Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1946
Guisu had always been a loner, unwilling to interact with others; to him, a cellphone was truly a burden.
Although he had a cellphone, he almost never turned it on unless he needed to use it.
In fact, he could say that since buying it, he had hardly ever charged it because there was simply no need.
Guisu’s resolute gaze locked onto Baili Xia’s delicate face, his voice unwaveringly firm.
“In the future, I will definitely turn it on for you.”
An inexplicable sense of emotion stirred within Baili Xia. Ever since Guisu decided to follow her, he truly gave her everything, without holding back.
She was not Guisu; she hadn’t experienced what he had, so she couldn’t understand why Guisu could trust her so completely.
She just hadn’t realized that she now, too, trusted Guisu completely.
“Alright.”
Suddenly, Baili Xia had an impulse to embrace this cold and steadfast man.
She released Guisu’s large hand and reached out to wrap her arms around his strong waist.
Resting her head against his broad chest, she basked in the warmth emanating from his body.
This warmth melted some of the frost in Baili Xia’s heart.
Guisu’s body instantly tensed, his hands by his sides, unsure of where to place them.
He knew well that her embrace was just an offering of familial trust, but he… had never embraced a woman other than Lu Xuening.
Moreover, when he had embraced Lu Xuening in the past, it was always because…
Now, this pure embrace from Baili Xia, devoid of any hidden meaning, made him nervously sweat in his palms.
It took a long time before he placed his weathered hands on Baili Xia’s back, just letting them rest there.
He didn’t dare to hold her tightly, nor dare to let his hands stray even an inch.
These hands of his had never been clean, and he had once embraced Lu Xuening.
Now holding this young girl, he truly… feared that he would defile her.
“Guisu, thank you,” Baili Xia suddenly said.
Guisu was taken aback, “Thank me for what?”
Baili Xia didn’t reply, just continued holding him.
The answer to that question lay only in her heart.
She inhaled deeply, gently released her arms from around Guisu’s waist, and pushed him away.
“I should go.”
“I’ll see you off.” Those words, “see you off,” erased thousands of unsaid words.
“No need, Fan Yi will take me there.”
She couldn’t let Guisu see her off, fearing that it would be even harder when it was time to part.
Baili Xia pushed Guisu into the room, closed the door for him, and then turned to go downstairs.
Guisu merely stood behind the door, listening all the while to her departing footsteps.
He wanted so much to rush out, pull her back, tell her not to leave, to stay here, to stay by his side.
He would take care of her, even if he wasn’t wealthy, even if he had nothing.
But as long as she wanted something in this world, even if it cost him his own life, he would get it for her.
But he didn’t dare, lacked the courage.
These hands of his simply weren’t worthy of holding her; he was undeserving…
In the hall, Bei Tianyou was sitting on the sofa, seemingly waiting for her.
Fan Yi stood beside him, holding Baili Xia’s suitcase.
Baili Xia wore a smile again as she walked toward Bei Tianyou.
“Brother You.”
Bei Tianyou rose from the sofa, looking at the delicate girl before him, his heart a tangle of emotions.
“Leaving so soon?”
Mu Xiaojiu suddenly informed him he was taking Baili Xia away, and he truly felt some reluctance.
Had he known, he should have spent more time with her.
