Baili Xia was momentarily speechless, so she looked out the window.

The rotor started spinning, creating a strong wind, and Fan Yi had already retreated to the building beside the helipad.

She wondered if he could still see her, and waved her hand in the direction of the building.

The helicopter took off, and she was leaving this place she truly called home once again.

There was not a shred of fear in her heart, as the helicopter soared into the sky, steadily heading towards Jin City.

Baili Xia kept her gaze fixed outside the window, as if the person in the cabin didn’t exist.

The array of information she received at the Bei Family was overwhelming, so much so that she had no idea how to face the Mu family people.

Even though she had imagined many times before how to interact with Uncle or Brother upon seeing them again.

But when she truly faced them, she found it was so difficult to speak.

“What’s wrong? Reluctant to leave?”

Beside her, that faint voice drifted over, causing Baili Xia’s heart to tighten.

She turned her head and forced a slight smile.

“Yeah.” She decided to think of it that way; it’s at least better than saying nothing.

Mu Xiaojiu sat sideward, with a hint of complexity flashing in his eyes.

He looked at Baili Xia, paused for a while, and then suddenly said, “If you want to visit again, I’ll have the helicopter take you.”

Baili Xia was stunned, lifting her eyes to look at Mu Xiaojiu, a trace of confusion appeared in her gaze.

These words sounded very familiar, like what Wu Ming had said to her just a few days ago.

Baili Xia suddenly had an illusion, as if the same person was repeating these words in her ear.

She stared dazedly at Mu Xiaojiu, searching his face. Aside from both being cold, they clearly were not the same person.

Mu Xiaojiu lightly pressed his thin lips together, seemingly aware that his words were troubling.

“What? Do you think I can’t afford it?”

Baili Xia laughed, her laughter carrying a slight ease.

Of course, they weren’t the same person; one possessed immense wealth, and the other was merely his subordinate, taking orders from him.

“Where’s Wu Ming? Why did you suddenly let him go?”

“I paid him, so naturally he has to perform tasks for me.”

Baili Xia felt relieved; working means going wherever one is sent.

“What about Brother? Why didn’t he come to pick me up?”

Mu Xiaojiu’s sharp brows furrowed slightly: “Xiaoyao has a project to work on, he’s busy.”

Baili Xia lowered her eyes, her gaze returning to the window.

Mu Xiaojiu easily sensed the loss in her, and said in a deep voice: “Am I not a good choice to come pick you up?”

Baili Xia smiled faintly: “You are, it’s just that you’re even busier than him; your coming here is even harder.”

Despite Baili Xia consistently responding, Mu Xiaojiu still felt that the girl was somewhat unusual.

The days at the Bei Family had really changed this girl.

Even though he was cautious everywhere, she still had the opportunity to interact with Nangong Yun and others.

He wondered what she had heard from them, which made the girl lose interest.

Perhaps, he shouldn’t have brought her here in the first place.

Mu Xiaojiu glanced at Baili Xia indifferently, then turned around and sat up straight.

He reclined the chair a bit, lying on it, closed his eyes, and slowly seemed to fall asleep.

Baili Xia’s gaze returned to the window, looking out at the miniature scenery on the ground.

From this vantage point, looking down on the earth, everything seemed so tiny.

Isn’t she the same way? Whether at the Bei Family or the Mu Family, her strength was insignificant.

If it hadn’t been for Uncle, Brother, Brother You, and Guisu’s help, she wouldn’t know how many times she would’ve died by now.

Thinking this, her eyelids grew heavy, and she slowly fell asleep leaning against the window.
