Be Gentle, My Master

Chapter 198: Behave Don't Move 11_1

Baili Xia’s smile only grew sweeter as she looked at the furious Mu Ziying.

“Ziying, you should know that the value of this cake isn’t in the cake itself, but in the significance behind it.”

“What the hell does that mean?” Ziying gave Baili Xia a glare.

Baili Xia promptly spoke again, “You know that the proceeds from this charity sale will be donated to children of poor mountainous areas.”

“You’re doing a good deed, so spending two hundred thousand is worthwhile.”

With a fierce glare at Baili Xia, Ziying couldn’t find a way to argue back.

After all, as the younger Miss Mu, arguing about two hundred thousand in public was not befitting of her image.

Yet, spending a hundred thousand for a single dinky cake, courtesy of Baili Xia, was a blatant rip-off…

“You little swindler!” she exclaimed, pointing at Baili Xia and stamping her foot in anger.

“Have you been with Uncle for so long that you’ve become cunning too?”

“Ziying, are you calling Uncle a swindler?”

Baili Xia wore an expression of feigned realization, blinking at Ziying with a mischievous smile.

“Ah, so that’s what you think of Uncle.

I’ll be sure to tell him exactly what you said.”

“What are you rambling about?

When did I ever call Uncle a swindler?”

Ziying was taken aback, glowering at her.

Although, in her heart, she did think somewhat along those lines considering everyone knew of Uncle’s ruthless business tactics.

Of course, Uncle wasn’t a swindler, he was just cunning and ruthless.

In the business world, countless people have suffered due to his actions.

But the business world is a battlefield after all, and as long as one plays within the rules, who could comment?

If you lose, it just means you’re not as skilled.

The one who wins, wins with wisdom.

That wasn’t what she meant, she just didn’t expect Baili Xia to be so devious.

“Two hundred thousand, fine, I’ll buy it.

But what does it have to do with Uncle?

Let’s pretend this conversation never happened!”

She was livid, yet she took another bite of the cake.

Although it was delicious, losing an expensive handbag over it was simply not worth it.

While muttering to herself, she was about to take out her checkbook when she noticed a figure approaching from the corner of her eye.

As she glanced up at the man, she quickly took a half-step back, clearly wanting to distance herself from him.

“What’s with that look?”

Dongfang Ji walked over, looking down at Mu Ziying, who was almost a head shorter than him, a smile tugging at his lips.

“Does the sight of me make you want to run?

Am I really that terrifying?”

“You’re not terrifying, just annoying.”

Ziying gave him a disdainful look and scoffed, “I have nothing to say to you, stay away.”

“You might not have anything to say to me, but I have something to say to you.” Dongfang Ji advanced a step further.

Ziying immediately retreated two steps back, glaring up at him.

“We have nothing to do with each other.

If you take another step, I’m going to scream harassment.”

“You can try.

I bet in the end, it won’t be me harassing you, but you seducing me.”

With his arms crossed, Dongfang Ji watched her with amusement in his eyes.

Baili Xia, somewhat bewildered, observed the intriguing relationship between Dongfang Ji and Ziying.

Though Ziying continually tried to avoid him,

Dongfang Ji didn’t seem to mind her aloof and resistant attitude.

Instead, his eyes held a poorly concealed amusement.

Before she had time to figure out their relationship, Ziying had already retrieved her checkbook from her bag.

Looking at Baili Xia, Ziying scoffed.

“‘Two hundred thousand,’ right?

I’ll write you the check, just don’t bother me again!

And I didn’t mention anything about Uncle, so don’t make up stories in front of him, do you understand?”
