After Xiaoxiao’s accident, Brother spent a lot of time on this matter, and she’s grateful to him for helping with it.

But this is different from the previous deception.

She still can’t get over the fact that Brother would push him to Uncle.

No matter whether what they said is true or false, she can’t accept it until her memory returns.

The two of them didn’t say anything more and returned to Sihai Residence.

Upstairs, Baili Xia went back to her room and had just lain down on the bed when the door was knocked.

Opening the door, she found Mu Xiaoyao standing outside.

“What else?”

Mu Xiaoyao handed her a few books: “These are your courses for next semester. You can start reading them.”

“The semester starts in a few days, don’t embarrass the Mu family then.”

At this moment, Baili Xia really wasn’t in the mood to read.

She took the books and threw them onto her sofa.

“Okay, I’ll look at them later.”

She was about to close the door when Mu Xiaoyao squeezed in.

“What more do you want?” Baili Xia said grumpily.

“I’m here to keep you company while you read. If there’s anything you don’t understand, I’ll teach you,” Mu Xiaoyao said nonchalantly.

Baili Xia felt like a cloud of gloom hovered over her, her expression complicated and unpleasant.

Read, was he serious?

How could she possibly focus at a time like this?

But with his calm demeanor, he clearly wasn’t joking.

“I’m not in the mood right now, maybe later, okay?”

Seeing the red lines in Mu Xiaoyao’s eyes, she felt a bit empathetic.

“You rest first, and after you’ve rested, you can teach me.”

“Alright.”

She thought he would leave to rest in his room, but instead, Mu Xiaoyao walked straight to Baili Xia’s big bed.

“You…”

Baili Xia didn’t have time to finish her sentence before Mu Xiaoyao’s tall figure lay straight on the soft bed.

He lay there with his shoes still on, his feet hanging off the bed.

“Brother,” Baili Xia called softly.

Mu Xiaoyao responded with a murmur, his voice particularly muffled.

He really was exhausted. He’d been tired for days and hadn’t closed his eyes since yesterday until just now.

Even though Baili Xia had complaints about him, she couldn’t bring herself to forcefully pull him up.

She hesitated for just a minute, and then slight snores came from the bed.

Brother fell asleep so quickly.

Baili Xia shook her head helplessly and walked over to him.

She took off his shoes and pushed him completely onto the bed.

Only then did she pick up a thin quilt and cover him with it.

Mu Xiaoyao remained peacefully unmoving, letting her manipulate him without waking up.

Maybe, staying with Baili Xia really allowed him to feel at ease.

As she tucked the quilt, Baili Xia leaned forward, looking at Mu Xiaoyao’s handsome face, her gaze slightly dazed.

Brother is really handsome, no less than Uncle.

And he’s very good to her as well.

He appears a bit silly, though he’s not truly stupid, just clueless about matters of the heart.

Such a man, perhaps many girls would fall for.

If Baili Xia really had to choose between Brother and Uncle.

She’d probably choose Brother. As for Uncle, even if she likes him, it’s more about admiration.

She really doesn’t understand why she ended up with Uncle.

Why not Brother?

She wishes she had liked Brother from the start.

If it were Brother, perhaps many things would have been simpler…
