Beside her, Yeying quickly gave Baili Xia a look, pleading with her not to say such obviously rejecting words.

But Baili Xia acted as if she hadn’t seen it, completely ignoring him.

She directly picked up her backpack and turned to leave.

Xiaoyao slightly frowned and quickly stepped forward to chase after her.

He reached out, grabbed Baili Xia’s arm, and gently pulled her back.

“Don’t talk to Uncle like that.”

He knew that this girl had become excessively attached to him recently, not wanting to leave his side.

Being with her, unknowingly, he had grown accustomed to being by her side.

But even he could see that Uncle was on the verge of an outburst.

“I don’t let others take me,” Baili Xia looked at him, clearly filled with resentment!

“That’s Uncle.” It’s not just anybody.

“Still, no.”

Baili Xia was being rather unreasonable, unwilling to listen.

For someone like Xiaoyao, who was not good at comforting others, it was even harder to persuade her.

After saying a few sentences, Xiaoyao gave up, helpless.

He looked at Baili Xia and softly said, “Wait.”

Then, he walked back into the side hall.

After a while, Xiaoyao came out again, his expression not looking good.

Baili Xia felt a pang in her heart, “What’s wrong?”

Xiaoyao didn’t stop walking, bypassing her and heading straight toward the courtyard.

“Aren’t you going to school soon?”

A moment later, Baili Xia finally reacted.

Unable to contain herself, she let out a cheer, her face brimming with joyous smiles.

She quickly followed Xiaoyao’s steps, reaching out and hooking her arm through his.

At the entrance of the side hall, Mu Xiaojiu watched the scene in the distance coldly, his heart growing colder.

How much longer would this go on before it finally ended?

Outside the courtyard, Baili Xia waited at the gate for Xiaoyao to drive over.

A few minutes later, a car approached from afar, and Baili Xia walked toward it with a beaming smile.

Who knew, the car window rolled down, revealing that Ning Anran was sitting inside.

“Xiaxia, going to school?”

Ning Anran’s face looked complex upon seeing Baili Xia.

She had thought Baili Xia wouldn’t miss the chance to retaliate for last time, but unexpectedly, Baili Xia had explained the situation clearly and saved her.

She truly let her go without any traps waiting ahead.

After returning, she had surgery; although she hadn’t fully recovered, she could manage with crutches.

She didn’t want to go to school, but Mu Xuri had been cold to her recently.

To avoid upsetting him unintentionally, Ning Anran chose to go to school every day.

Today was her first day back, and she happened to run into Baili Xia.

Baili Xia glanced at the driver in front and maintained her smile.

“Yes, are you heading to school too?”

“Together?”

“No need, Brother is taking me.”

Looking into the distance, a black car was speeding toward them.

Ning Anran looked back, something flickering in her eyes.

“Then, see you at school.”

With that, she instructed the driver to drive away.

Xiaoyao picked up Baili Xia, and half an hour later, they arrived at the school.

The luxurious car stopped at the entrance of Imperial College, immediately drawing the attention of passing students.

This was Mu’s car, and many students recognized it.

But they had heard that Mu had rarely been on campus this term, so seeing him today was truly fortunate.

Some gossiping junior girls were already peering through the glass into the car.

Some even took out their phones to take photos from the front of the car.

Such a good opportunity, if missed, might never come again in the whole year.
