Wen Yu collected her emotions, picked up her coat, and draped it over herself again before finally turning to look at Mu Xuri.

At this moment, if someone were to open the door and see her like this, what would they think?

Even though she wore the coat properly, the expression on her face could not fade away quickly.

At the door, the knocking came again.

Mu Xuri’s somber face showed no trace of excitement. After a moment of silence, he nodded slightly towards Wen Yu.

Instantly, Wen Yu felt a chill in her heart, a hint of bitterness arising in her eyes.

She hadn’t expected that he would really make her open the door.

She lowered her gaze to check her clothing, ensuring she was decently covered, and walked to the door to open it.

“Mrs. Wen.”

Outside the door, Ning Anran was momentarily stunned upon seeing Wen Yu’s appearance.

Her cheeks were slightly flushed, her clear almond eyes misty, the wide coat barely hiding the allure beneath.

The wide collar revealed fair skin, the silk nightgown swayed gently, showing two straight and beautiful legs below.

This was nothing like the usual elegant and virtuous image; it was unmistakably… a woman who had just been deeply moved!

Wen Yu felt ill at ease under the gaze in Ning Anran’s eyes.

She turned slightly to the side, nodded faintly, and stepped aside to let Ning Anran in.

Ning Anran sensed that perhaps she had come at an awkward time, just now… she wondered what Mrs. Wen and Third Uncle were doing in the study.

But thinking it over carefully, she somehow understood.

Mrs. Wen dressed in such a seductive manner, her demeanor charming, her breathing a bit rapid.

And it took so long to open the door, they were probably doing that kind of thing just now.

But, wasn’t Third Uncle unable to do such things? How could this be…

Thinking of this, her cheeks reddened slightly as she greeted Mu Xuri seated behind the desk.

“Third Uncle.”

Mu Xuri, who had just looked cold and indifferent, had a slight flicker in his eyes when looking at her.

“Is something the matter?” he asked blandly.

Ning Anran looked at Mu Xuri and spoke respectfully, “I ran into Shentu Sheng outside the school just now, and I have something to report to you.”

Mu Xuri’s brows furrowed slightly, his eyes lowered.

Ning Anran meeting Shentu Sheng outside the school couldn’t be a coincidence.

He glanced toward Wen Yu standing by the door. Her gaze was fixed on an unknown corner of the study, lost in thought.

“You can go rest now. I have something to discuss with Anran.”

Wen Yu’s body trembled, coming back to her senses, looking at Mu Xuri in disbelief.

She didn’t understand his meaning—Ning Anran had something to report, yet he was sending her away.

Could it be that he no longer needed her?

In the past, no matter the matter, Wen Yu would always be by Mu Xuri’s side to listen.

Seeing her motionless, Mu Xuri continued, “You’re tired, go rest.”

Ning Anran’s gaze swept backward, and as it passed over Wen Yu, she suddenly noticed a red bag on the coffee table, a glint of confusion in her eyes.

Wen Yu, sensing her gaze, panicked and quickly walked over to pick up the bag.

She had just forgotten to put away the bag. If someone saw it, who would believe she was an elegant woman anymore?

“I’ll take my leave now.”

She left just these words behind, not sparing Mu Xuri another glance, and hurried out the door.

Once she had gone, Ning Anran turned back to look at Mu Xuri and asked, “Third Uncle, what’s wrong with Mrs. Wen?”

Despite having some guesses, she still posed the question.

After all, in front of these elders, she was always the obedient and transparent girl.
