Baili Xia didn’t know what they were doing. Now that Uncle was no longer the CEO of the Mu Group, he didn’t need to be distracted by company affairs.

Since they were still so busy, they were probably cultivating their own strength.

Or maybe they encountered something tricky, which is why they couldn’t come back.

“Is what you’re doing dangerous?” she asked again.

Thinking of the wound she saw on Uncle the last time, she had been feeling a bit scared inside.

She was really worried that one day, when these two guys came back, they would be covered in injuries again.

Mu Xiaoyao’s deep, dark eyes flickered slightly. He didn’t want to deceive her, but…

“There shouldn’t be any danger.”

In the end, this was all he could say, even he couldn’t guarantee absolute safety.

With the things they did, their identities, they could encounter unexpected situations at any time.

Baili Xia could see the hesitation in Mu Xiaoyao’s eyes.

She didn’t believe what he said, but there was nothing she could do.

“Whatever you do, please be careful.”

Mu Xiaoyao nodded gravely and gently brushed his hand over her soft hair.

After confirming the relationship with this girl, the sense of responsibility on him seemed to grow heavier.

Every time he acted outside, there was always a concern in his heart.

“I can’t take calls; if there’s anything, send me a message, and I’ll see it.”

Baili Xia nodded, leaning her body closer to him.

She buried her head in his broad chest, listening carefully to his heartbeat.

The two of them stood there, neither of them moving.

“When will you be done with all this?”

“In a few more days, it should be more or less finished.”

The project had entered its final stage; in a few more days, everything would be completely set up.

He and Uncle could entrust the remaining matters to their brothers with peace of mind.

After a while, Mu Xiaoyao gently pushed Baili Xia away.

“I have to go; my brothers are still waiting for me.”

“Hmm, be careful,” Baili Xia advised once again.

Mu Xiaoyao nodded, gazing deeply at Baili Xia before turning and walking away.

As he reached the door, he paused, turned back to look at Baili Xia.

“Remember, I’ll investigate Xiaoxiao’s matter. You must not act on your own, understand?”

“Okay.”

This time, Mu Xiaoyao didn’t stop, taking large strides and quickly exiting Sihai Residence.

…

The next day, after lunchtime, Baili Xia went to the main house.

She had already arranged with Zimo the day before to go choose a wedding dress together in the afternoon.

As soon as she arrived at the main hall, she saw Mu Xuri, Mrs. Wen, and Ning Anran sitting on the sofa chatting.

Seeing Baili Xia enter, the three of them hesitated slightly, and their conversation came to a halt.

“Third Uncle, Mrs. Wen,” Baili Xia greeted them with a bow.

Mu Xuri nodded and asked, “Xiaxia, are you here to see Zimo?”

“Yes, I’ve arranged with Zimo to go wedding dress shopping this afternoon,” Baili Xia responded truthfully.

Mrs. Wen’s eyes brightened as if she wanted to say something, but looking at Mu Xuri, she didn’t speak out.

She was over thirty and had never had a chance to wear a wedding dress.

Every time she saw someone else getting married, she felt very envious inside.

However, Mu Xuri had never said a word about wanting to marry her.

If given the chance, she would really like to try it, to see how she’d look in a wedding dress.

Her age was catching up with her, and she was truly no longer young.

If she couldn’t wear a wedding dress at her most beautiful age, it would probably be a lifelong regret.

Mu Xuri nodded and said, “Lingchuan just came back, Zimo should be coming down with him soon. You can wait here for a while.”

After saying that, he called a servant to go upstairs and remind Zimo.
