“You two really look alike.”

Baili Xia had always thought that her Brother and Uncle had similar temperaments and physiques.

Unexpectedly, after the disguise, he looked exactly like Uncle.

If you didn’t look closely, you wouldn’t be able to tell at all.

Just unsure if he could mimic the way he talked as well.

“I didn’t expect you and Uncle could look so alike.”

“How is it? Is everything okay?”

Mu Xiaoyao shook his head lightly: “Temporarily covered it up, but…”

He wasn’t very sure if he could really deceive Mu Xuri.

At the time, Wen Yu seemed to already suspect him.

Seeing his hesitation, Baili Xia asked nervously, “Is someone suspicious of you?”

“Uncle has been with Mrs. Wen since childhood. I don’t know if we can fool her.”

Baili Xia frowned, lowering her eyes in thought.

Based on her observation of Wen Yu, the relationship between her, Mu Xuri, and Ning Anran was quite delicate now.

She had a vague feeling that even if Wen Yu suspected something, she might not necessarily tell Mu Xuri.

However, she wasn’t confident about it either. It seemed she would have to test the waters given the chance.

“I’ll try to test her out when I have a chance.”

“No need.” Mu Xiaoyao refused immediately, “Even if they suspect, so what? At worst, just don’t admit it.”

Baili Xia smiled without saying anything.

Her Brother still didn’t understand Mu Xuri’s ways. If he suspected, he would never let it go just because of a denial.

She smiled and continued, “Even though you two look very similar, if it were in front of me, I could still distinguish you.”

Mu Xiaoyao glanced at her slightly, noticing that since she knew Uncle could be cured, her mood had improved greatly.

“How can you tell?” he asked.

Baili Xia gave a slight smile, a hint of pride on her face.

“You both have similar temperaments, but your aura is slightly different.”

“As long as you come close to me, I can tell you apart.”

She paused and added, “But if it’s someone else, you should be able to deceive them.”

Mu Xiaoyao’s heart trembled a bit, this girl was indeed too familiar with them.

He nodded, his gaze sweeping towards the bed, where Mu Xiaojiu was still asleep.

“How is Uncle?”

Baili Xia collected her thoughts and looked back at Mu Xiaojiu.

“He fell asleep shortly after lying down. The poison in his body should have alleviated quite a bit.”

“The master will come later to check again.”

“Okay.”

…

When Mu Xuri and Wen Yu returned to the main house, Ning Anran had already come back.

Upon seeing Mu Xuri, she respectfully greeted him.

“Uncle.”

Mu Xuri acknowledged and headed towards the study.

Ning Anran sensibly followed behind him and Wen Yu into the study.

As soon as she stepped into the study, Wen Yu felt uncomfortable all over.

Since the last time she performed for Mu Xuri here, she hadn’t returned.

This place, originally clean and elegant, had been sullied by her.

She had an inexplicable resistance to coming back to this study.

Ning Anran closed the door, casting a disdainful glance at Wen Yu still standing at the doorway.

Perhaps she had suffered too many losses at Baili Xia’s place. Now, facing Wen Yu, who had lost much influence, she couldn’t be bothered to show a pleasant face.

Anyway, this old woman couldn’t bring her any benefits.

It’s really tiring to put on a fake smile for everyone all the time, so there’s no need to do it for someone who doesn’t benefit her.

After Mu Xuri sat behind the desk, Ning Anran walked to the opposite side and slowly sat down.

“Uncle, nothing was found in the medical room. They had just finished cleaning and disinfecting when I went there.”
