Nangong Xu walked straight to the bedside without speaking to Mu Xiaojiu and leaned down to inspect.

After the inspection, a trace of satisfaction flashed across his face.

“Recovering quite well, and as long as we persist for a few more days, the remaining poison should be completely removed.”

He lowered his gaze at Mu Xiaojiu, a barely noticeable smile emerging on his face.

“Of course, during this time, do not engage in any intense activities that might cause the poison to resurface.”

Last night, he finally saw Mr. Xiaojiu’s true intentions towards this girl.

He never believed Mr. Xiaojiu would give up on the girl, and now seeing them reconciled, he finally felt a bit relieved.

Baili Xia’s cheeks reddened instantly; she clearly knew what her master’s words meant.

The master is really something. Doesn’t he know she was forced to agree at the time? How can he joke like that in front of Uncle!

Mu Xiaojiu’s eyes were like deep water, impossible to fathom.

He glanced faintly at Nangong Xu and said, “You talk too much.”

Nangong Xu ignored him and turned to Baili Xia, saying, “Freshen up and have breakfast, then come back, and I’ll draw your blood.”

“Okay.”

Baili Xia nodded like she was pardoned and quickly walked into the bathroom.

After hurriedly freshening up, she went downstairs to get breakfast.

As soon as Baili Xia left the room, Nangong Xu’s face returned to its usual calmness.

He lowered his gaze at Mu Xiaojiu and asked, “Has Mr. Xiaojiu decided to have this girl come back to your side?”

Mu Xiaojiu sat up from the bed, leaning against the headboard.

His dark eyes glanced faintly at Nangong Xu, saying nothing.

He had made up his mind long ago; he had never changed.

Even talking about letting go was simply due to his pride.

Though silent, his attitude was quite clear, and this was a result that Nangong Xu was happy to see.

However, with this girl by his side, the future danger would undoubtedly be unavoidable.

Especially since she harbors a heart set on revenge.

“Since you’ve decided, protect her well, and don’t let her get hurt again.”

Mu Xiaojiu’s fingertips moved gently, a flicker of complexity flashing in his eyes.

“I don’t need you to tell me how.”

“Of course, Mr. Xiaojiu’s decisions aren’t open for others to comment on.” Nangong Xu chuckled and stopped speaking.

He took out medicine from the toolbox and began to treat the wounds on his body.

Suddenly, Mu Xiaojiu opened his eyes wide, stared at him, his gaze cold: “Tell her I’m fine now, no need to draw blood.”

The damage already caused cannot be changed, but she must never be harmed again in the future!

Nangong Xu’s face remained unchanged as he continued the examination as if he’d already anticipated his words.

“Mr. Xiaojiu, the poison in your body hasn’t been fully cleared yet. It’s unpredictable and could mutate at any time.”

“I said, I’m fine.” He knew best about his own physical condition.

He already has enough ability to stand on his own, not needing the girl to continue risking herself for him.

How much blood does a person have? Is Nangong Xu going to drain the girl’s blood completely to stop?

“Mr. Xiaojiu, please believe me, I care for the girl just like you… Though not as much as you, still, I care for her more than my own sister.”

After another glance at Mu Xiaojiu, Nangong Xu finally said blandly, “If possible, I would never want to harm her.”

“Then tell her the poison is clear, and she’s not needed anymore.”
