Zimo immediately understood Baili Xia’s thoughts.

She’s not someone who can put on an act; at this moment, she can only hold Xiaoxiao’s pale and weak hand in silence.

But, Zimo is exactly this kind of person.

Her silent demeanor is more persuasive than words; isn’t this precisely a sign of sadness?

“So, you’re saying there’s really not much chance that Xiaoxiao will wake up?”

Ning Anran stared at Baili Xia for a while, then her gaze fell on Ye Hua.

No one responded to her, but Ning Anran wasn’t so foolish as to easily believe Baili Xia’s sudden change of tune just now.

The things these people said, if told to Uncle Three, might make him understand a bit more.

After all, Mu Xuri really is an old fox.

Ning Anran felt a flash of embarrassment on her face when no one acknowledged her.

After a while, she asked again, “Why is it that every time I come to visit Xiaoxiao recently, there are always a few brothers from Sihai Residence guarding here?”

“Do you suspect that someone wants to harm Xiaoxiao?”

Baili Xia raised her brows, surprised that Ning Anran actually noticed this.

Originally, those brothers were well-hidden and not easily discovered.

But over time, they became somewhat careless and occasionally came out for a stroll.

It’s not surprising that Ning Anran, coming by every day recently, would encounter them.

Baili Xia silently blamed those brothers a bit, thinking she must have Brother remind them again.

“It’s not because of that; my master has been researching some new things recently, and he doesn’t want to be disturbed.”

Although she spoke lightly, this explanation sounded quite unconvincing.

This medical room has people visiting Xiaoxiao every day, how could it not disturb Nangong Xu?

Especially since this is Sihai Residence, arguably the most secure place in the entire Mu Mansion, what is there to fear?

Ning Anran’s eyes shifted, and she thought of something.

“No matter what, I hope Xiaoxiao wakes up soon.”

“I have something to do, so I’ll head back first; you all can continue chatting.”

She stood up and smiled at Zimo.

“Zimo, I’ll leave it to Xiaxia to take you back later.”

Zimo nodded gently; she hadn’t planned on leaving with Ning Anran anyway, so this was just right.

After Ning Anran left, Zimo looked at Baili Xia, who shook her head.

“She is smarter than we thought; in the future, don’t say what shouldn’t be said in front of her.”

“It’s my fault, just now… I was really too excited.” Ye Hua really wanted to slap himself.

Having lived in the world of martial arts for so many years, yet acting less prudently than a child now.

After so many years of experience by Mr. Xiaojiu’s side, these days were truly wasted.

“I wasn’t any better; upon hearing the news, I was also quite agitated.”

Baili Xia felt somewhat helpless, knowing they could have deceived Ning Anran.

Once Ning Anran talks to Mu Xuri, that old fox will surely figure out what they’re thinking.

Zimo and Ye Hua both nodded, and Ye Hua said, “I will be more careful in the future.”

Baili Xia nodded in agreement that this matter was past and discussing it further was meaningless.

In the future, the defense must be even tighter.

Perhaps Ning Anran isn’t the one who wants to harm Xiaoxiao, but whether it’s Mu Xuri remains uncertain.

Although, Baili Xia really couldn’t understand what conflict would exist between Xiaoxiao and Mu Xuri.

Their identities and statuses were completely on different levels; what kind of dispute could there be?

Could it be that Xiaoxiao actually overheard something she “shouldn’t have heard”?
