“Girl, what are you doing inside?”

Outside the door, Mu Xiaojiu finally lost his patience.

“I’m using the toilet, I’ll be out soon.” She answered haphazardly.

“You’ve been in there for half an hour, does it take that long?”

“Feeling a bit unwell, soon.”

“I’ll give you three minutes. If you’re not out, I’ll come in and help you.”

Baili Xia was about to lose her mind; it’s just using the toilet, although not truly needing it, how could he come in to help her?

Even for using the toilet, he had to interfere, the bastard, did he have to be so domineering!

But Uncle only gave her three minutes, and she definitely believed he would do what he said.

The thought of this made her not dare to waste any more time, especially considering Uncle’s health condition.

If he truly got out of bed, his health would surely be affected.

“Alright.” She yelled out, pressing down on the flush of the toilet.

Accompanying the sound of the toilet flushing, Baili Xia opened the door and came out.

The blush had faded from her face, but she was still inexplicably a bit afraid of Mu Xiaojiu.

Her peripheral vision caught sight of those startling lines reverting to their original state.

Baili Xia felt slightly relieved before walking up to Mu Xiaojiu to help him put on his pajama pants.

Throughout, she dared not look into Mu Xiaojiu’s eyes; she knew those eyes that could easily see through people were certainly staring tightly at her.

Having done all this, Baili Xia suddenly said, “Uncle, you should rest.”

Her gaze still avoided looking at Mu Xiaojiu.

“Where are you going?”

“I’ll sleep on the sofa.”

Baili Xia turned around, planning to find a blanket.

“Come back.” The voice pierced the air, reaching Baili Xia’s eardrums.

It’s like whatever she was afraid of in her head, he specifically wanted to do just that.

“Is there anything else?”

Mu Xiaojiu’s indifferent gaze was indisputable: “Tonight, you’ll sleep on the bed.”

“You’re still poisoned, I’m afraid you…”

“I won’t touch you.”

Who would believe that? Baili Xia obviously wasn’t convinced.

However, she really couldn’t find a reason to refuse and was at a loss for words.

No matter what she said, Uncle would force her back to the bed.

She had promised last night that she would stay with him no matter what.

“Are you coming or do I have to come over and drag you?”

Uncle was just that domineering; once given the chance, he would be utterly dictatorial.

Baili Xia hesitated internally. If it was just taking care of Uncle, she wouldn’t have a psychological barrier.

However, she absolutely couldn’t, under the agreement with Brother, do anything excessive with Uncle, even though she was truly grateful for everything Uncle had done for her.

She stood there, motionless.

Mu Xiaojiu’s patience was being worn away bit by bit; his body shifted slightly as if he truly intended to come over and drag Baili Xia.

“Don’t move! I’ll come over, okay?”

Ultimately, Baili Xia couldn’t resist Mu Xiaojiu and finally moved to the bedside.

Her eyes looked at him resentfully before she lay down slowly beside him.

Mu Xiaojiu reached out and pressed a switch at the head of the bed, and the room instantly plunged into darkness.

Baili Xia was extremely tense, her body tightly curled up.

Out of fear, she lay on the very edge of the bed.

“Come closer, I won’t eat you.”

In the darkness, that magnetic voice came through, but in Baili Xia’s ears, there was not a shred of appreciation.

Now, there was only anxiety and helplessness. As for appreciation, let’s wait until he recovers…

No, even when he recovers, there shouldn’t be any appreciation…

She didn’t move, still lying in place.

Suddenly, a hand reached over and touched her back.
