No matter how she thought about it, it seemed that she had to listen to him.

Baili Xia felt helpless; he had already made things so clear today, what else could she do but listen to him?

“I’m just afraid that in the future… it won’t be good.”

This matter originally had nothing to do with Brother, but now, he was dragged into it.

How could she repay this favor?

Mu Xiaoyao glanced at her lightly, as if he could see through what she was thinking: “How do you want to repay it?”

Baili Xia was taken aback. Was Brother a worm in her stomach? “I don’t know.”

What does Brother lack? It seems he doesn’t need anything.

Moreover, she had nothing to offer.

Even if she wanted to buy something valuable, she couldn’t afford it.

Seeing her a bit embarrassed, Mu Xiaoyao smiled faintly.

“I don’t need you to repay me anything.”

Baili Xia’s gaze fell out of the window, unsure of what to say.

Brother was always like this, helping her selflessly.

For her, he could do anything, even at the cost of his own reputation.

But the more he acted like this, the more indebted she felt inside.

She was really afraid that one day she wouldn’t be able to bear the debt to him.

“If you really feel indebted, just cook me a meal.”

Suddenly, a soft voice beside her brought Baili Xia’s thoughts back.

“Cook?”

What could a meal make up for?

Mu Xiaoyao gently nodded: “I haven’t had a proper meal for a long time.”

Recently, he had been busy outside every day, not having the time to sit down for a proper meal.

Even when he returned to Sihai Residence, he would immediately leave again after dealing with Uncle’s matters.

Baili Xia also realized this, feeling grateful in her heart. Brother had casually given her such a simple request to repay the favor he had done for her.

In fact, he didn’t really need anything; a meal was just a way to put her mind at ease.

“Alright.”

Just as Baili Xia finished speaking, Mu Xiaoyao turned the steering wheel, and the car merged into the left lane.

Soon, they were heading back in the opposite direction.

“Brother, where are we going?”

“To buy groceries, then back to school.”

“Back to school?” Baili Xia didn’t immediately understand.

“Unless you want to cook every day, we’ll go back to Sihai Residence.”

Baili Xia finally understood. She chuckled with a hint of bitterness on her face and said nothing more.

If she cooked at Sihai Residence and Uncle knew she cooked for Brother, she feared he would force her to cook for him every day as well.

At least, during this period when he was severely poisoned, she wouldn’t find peace.

Mu Xiaoyao wasn’t very familiar with the area around the school.

Although he had been here for six or seven years, he rarely left his apartment.

He was even too lazy to go to the school cafeteria, often settling his meals with instant noodles in the apartment.

Although Baili Xia wasn’t a homebody, her old dormitory didn’t have a kitchen for cooking.

The two of them wandered around the school like blind mice.

They were surrounded by high-rise buildings; where was the market?

In the end, out of no other choice, Baili Xia had to get out of the car to ask a passerby for directions.

Others saw them driving a luxury car worth millions, yet they were looking for a market, as if they had discovered a new world.

But there were kind people who told them where the market was.

Finally, following the kind person’s directions, after many twists and turns through countless alleys, they found the market hidden in the city.

By the time they came out of the market, it was already almost two o’clock.

Mu Xiaoyao’s stomach growled, loud enough for Baili Xia sitting next to him to hear.

She had originally wanted to cook a nice meal for Brother, but unexpectedly, it was already two o’clock, and she hadn’t even started cooking.

This lunch, intended as repayment, was basically a failure.
