Since Tian is lying, she might be lying about other things she was asked about too.

But just now, when Tian said she really didn’t know Baili Xia and Zimo, it truly didn’t seem like she was pretending.

What’s really going on?

Is she really Ye Zi? What is she doing in the Mu Mansion?

There are so many doubts, but there’s no way to ask them out loud.

Baili Xia has a vague feeling that Tian’s identity is very suspicious and might have a significant connection with Mu Xuri.

However, she did not dare to pursue the matter further.

“Tian, did you really come to Jin City the day before yesterday?”

Zimo, unaware of Baili Xia’s concern, finally couldn’t help but ask.

Baili Xia wanted to give her a look, but it was already too late.

Tian’s expression visibly changed, even though it recovered in an instant, Baili Xia still noticed it.

“Yes, young madam, why do you ask?”

Zimo saw Baili Xia’s look and knew she didn’t want her to ask that question.

For a moment, she didn’t know how to explain.

“What Zimo means is that you just arrived in Jin City and managed to enter the Mu family, your luck is really great.”

“You know, the treatment in the Mu family is much better than other families.”

Baili Xia quickly interjected to defuse the situation.

Tian’s eyes flickered, and she gave a faint smile.

“Yes, it’s really luck.”

Baili Xia nodded, then looked at Zimo.

“Zimo, when are you going to rest?”

Zimo understood, knowing there was more she wanted to say.

“Now that you mention it, I do feel tired, I’ll go upstairs.”

“Let me take you back,” Baili Xia stood up and went to support Zimo.

She glanced at Tian again, “I’ll take care of Zimo, you can go rest.”

“Alright, thank you, Miss Xiaxia.”

Tian didn’t say much more, just stood there watching Baili Xia and Zimo until they left.

Such an attitude was indeed respectful, and without specialized maid training, a newcomer couldn’t act this way.

Baili Xia and Zimo exchanged a glance before supporting her upstairs.

Once inside the room with the door closed, Zimo immediately asked, “What’s going on?”

Even she sensed that this matter was not just about investigating whether Tian was Ye Zi.

She already guessed that Baili Xia was also hiding something from her.

“Zimo, there are some things it’s better for you not to know.”

Upon hearing this, a hint of worry appeared on Zimo’s face.

“Xiaxia, are you doing something dangerous again?”

Baili Xia shook her head and smiled, “Of course not, I’m timid and wouldn’t do anything dangerous.”

She looked at Zimo, her mind turning to an excuse.

“It’s nothing, I’m just afraid asking too much will upset Mr. Xuri.”

“You know, Mr. Xuri had complaints about me before, if Tian is his person, he might be unhappy.”

“Oh.”

Zimo thought about it and agreed, as many people knew Mu Xuri had issues with Xiaxia.

“So do you think this Tian is Ye Zi?”

Baili Xia frowned, thinking carefully.

After a while, she said, “I don’t know. She just looks a bit alike.”

“But her personality, her past, are completely different from Ye Zi’s.”

She paused, her tone growing more intense.

“Also, she lied about when she came to Jin City. Could it be that everything she told us about her background is false too?”
