Early the next day, after breakfast, Baili Xia called Zimo.

“Zimo, can you do me a favor later?”

“Sure, what is it?” Zimo’s warm voice came through the receiver, warming Baili Xia’s heart.

Talking to Zimo was always stress-free.

“Help me bring Wen Yu to Sihai Residence later, I have some matters to discuss with her.”

“Looking for her? Why not ask her to come directly?”

Zimo was clearly a bit surprised, since Wen Yu was considered the mistress of the main house.

If she wanted to go out, she could easily find her. Why have her brought there?

The voice on the other end paused, seemingly hesitating on how to explain.

After a few seconds, Baili Xia said, “Actually, it’s Uncle who wants to see her but doesn’t want Lingchuan to know.”

The moment these words were spoken, Zimo on the other end was so shocked that his mouth dropped open.

“Xiaxia, are you saying Mr. Xiaojiu and Mrs. Wen have… that kind of relationship?”

Baili Xia’s words inevitably led people to think.

They were already relatives; if there wasn’t something shady going on, why all the secrecy?

Zimo couldn’t understand how someone like Mu Xiaojiu could be involved with Wen Yu.

But after staying in the main house for a long time, she noticed some discordant signs.

It seemed like Mu Xuri wasn’t very fond of Wen Yu and was now very close to Ning Anran instead.

Perhaps that was why Wen Yu got involved with Mu Xiaojiu?

Baili Xia was both amused and exasperated by Zimo’s outlandish line of thinking.

“No way! Don’t overthink it. It’s not what you’re imagining.”

However, knowing Zimo’s nature, if it didn’t concern her, she wouldn’t bother with it.

Indeed, once she heard Baili Xia’s response, Zimo didn’t think much of it.

“That’s good; otherwise, things could get complicated.”

“This… can’t be explained so quickly. Anyway, just help me bring her over.”

Baili Xia didn’t want to explain too clearly. If Zimo misunderstood, then let her. It was better than knowing the truth and causing worry.

“I don’t want to say much, but Xiaxia, it’s best not to get involved in these kinds of matters; the implications aren’t good.”

Zimo couldn’t see Baili Xia, but if she could, she’d surely be amused by the expression on Baili Xia’s face.

Baili Xia was overwhelmed, her pretty face tangled in conflict.

It’s best if Uncle doesn’t blame her—she had no other choice but to make it seem as though their relationship was somewhat ambiguous.

Only then would Zimo not doubt her.

“Zimo, this must remain a secret; don’t let big brother know.”

“After all, it’s between the two of them, and if word gets around, it won’t be good.”

Even though she knew neither Mu Lingchuan nor Zimo were gossipers, they wouldn’t dare spread Uncle’s matters around.

Yet she felt that spreading this would tarnish Uncle’s reputation, and the more people who knew, the harsher his punishment on her would be in the future.

“Don’t worry, I’ll keep your secret and think of an excuse…”

After hanging up, Baili Xia walked into the hall to wait.

After waiting for half an hour, around 9 a.m., Zimo really brought Wen Yu over.

However, there was an additional person with them.

Seeing Ning Anran also accompanying them, Baili Xia felt a tightness in her chest.

It seems Mu Xuri never trusted Wen Yu, which is why she was sent to monitor.

Zimo looked at Baili Xia with an indescribably strange expression.

She went to find Wen Yu, and in the end, bumped into Mu Xuri and Ning Anran on her way down.
