Mu Xiaoyao nodded, looking indifferent, carrying a food box as he walked in.

“You haven’t eaten yet, have some food.”

Mu Xiaoyao walked briskly to the sofa and placed the meal box on the coffee table.

“Oh, thank you, Brother.”

Seeing the food, Baili Xia’s stomach growled instantly.

Brother didn’t ask why she took so long to open the door, saving her a lot of embarrassment.

She wondered how long he had been waiting outside; seeing his calm demeanor, it must have been only a short while.

Mu Xiaoyao had indeed stood outside for quite some time, managing to hear some faint noises from the room.

He originally intended to leave but reconsidered and stopped to wait at the door.

He feared the same situation from last time might happen again.

Fortunately, this time there was no danger; the girl didn’t call for help.

Baili Xia turned to look at Mu Xiaojiu, who was still seated by the bed. Though she was angry inside, she temporarily suppressed it.

Uncle, like her, had been busy all day and hadn’t eaten yet.

“Uncle, come and eat something too.”

She spoke to Mu Xiaojiu, but her voice didn’t sound very natural.

Mu Xiaojiu nodded but remained seated by the bed, not moving.

“Uncle?”

Baili Xia found it strange, her eyes fixed on Mu Xiaojiu.

She wondered what was wrong with Uncle; he agreed to eat but wasn’t coming over.

Her gaze swept over Uncle and suddenly stopped at a certain point underneath him.

Turns out, Uncle hadn’t calmed down yet.

Rushing to open the door earlier, he hadn’t had time to quell his bath heat.

Mu Xiaoyao seemed to guess something too, coughed lightly twice, his eyes landing on an unknown corner of the room.

Baili Xia’s face turned red, glaring fiercely at Mu Xiaojiu.

Ignoring him, she sat down directly and opened the meal box.

Not only was Uncle embarrassed, but she also felt awkward.

She decided to leave him far behind, ignoring him.

“Brother, what time is it now?”

Outside, it seemed darker, and after a nap, she couldn’t tell the time.

“A little after five.”

Baili Xia raised an eyebrow, surprised that she had slept for several hours.

During those hours, she wondered what might have happened outside.

She glanced at Mu Xiaojiu, who looked indifferent, apparently not worried about the outside matters.

“Has Long Ting discovered anything?” Baili Xia asked.

Mu Xiaoyao nodded: “They’re waiting for you.”

Baili Xia felt a tightness in her chest; clearly, Long Ting must have discovered something.

Her eyes returned to Uncle, still looking calm.

It seemed the heat beneath him had been suppressed; he stretched his arm before finally getting up and walking towards the sofa.

Mu Xiaojiu walked over to Baili Xia and sat down beside her.

Casually picking up a bowl of rice, he ate silently.

Uncle didn’t speak, and Baili Xia was at a loss for words too.

All she thought of was to quickly finish the food in her bowl, knowing many tasks would await her downstairs shortly.

Soon, they had both finished their meals.

“Shall we go and take a look?” Seeing Uncle still moving leisurely, Baili Xia couldn’t help but urge him.

Mu Xiaojiu nodded, stood up, and walked out first.

She thought they would go out like that, but when he was near the door, he suddenly paused and said, “If you really like listening, I’ll get you a bed in the room next time.”

Walking behind him, Mu Xiaoyao was slightly startled, not reacting immediately.

He stopped walking, looking blandly at Mu Xiaojiu’s back.

But in the next second, his face completely changed!
