Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 2290
Quickly, a group led by Mu Xiaojiu stealthily moved along the woods to the enemy’s rear.
The enemy evidently hadn’t expected someone to suddenly appear behind them, leading to their disarray.
By the time they allocated enough personnel to snipe the attackers from behind, they had already suffered heavy casualties.
The black-clad men, who initially had a slight upper hand, were overwhelmed front and back, and soon got picked off.
“Drop your guns, stand up, and surrender.”
With few remaining members, Long Ting shouted towards the location of the black-clad men.
But what greeted him was a barrage of gunfire.
“Damn it, these bastards won’t stop until they’re dead.”
Mu Xiaojiu said nothing; these men had been trained into devoted warriors.
Moreover, he believed they had likely been controlled by toxins like Tian.
They would fight to the last moment without giving up.
Finally, the battle ended with the last gunshot.
Once there were no enemies left, Mu Xiaojiu stood and walked over toward the opposite side.
Long Ting, with his squad, carefully checked the surrounding environment to prevent any stragglers.
From the depths of the woods, a group dressed in the same attire as Long Ting and his team approached.
Nearer now, the leader was revealed to be a woman.
Her delicate features were free from any pretense and she looked particularly rugged.
Her heroic spirit was as if Mulan had been reborn.
“Mr. Xiaojiu.”
Di Ran approached Mu Xiaojiu and saluted.
Mu Xiaojiu nodded slightly and asked, “How are the casualties among the brothers?”
He didn’t ask what had happened. At this point, that wasn’t important; capturing them was all that mattered.
A hint of pain crossed Di Ran’s face, and she replied coldly, “The brothers suffered heavy losses; we’re tallying them now, but it’s estimated we lost dozens of men.”
A trace of fierceness appeared in Mu Xiaojiu’s eyes as he strode past Di Ran toward the center of the base.
Di Ran and Long Ting exchanged a glance, then immediately followed Mu Xiaoyao.
At the base center’s conference hall, Mu Xiaojiu walked to the chair in the middle and sat down.
Only then did he look at Di Ran and ask, “Who was it?”
Di Ran was slightly taken aback but quickly responded, “It was Lu Ji, he’s already dead.”
Lu Ji? Mu Xiaoyao and Long Ting looked at each other. He was the squad leader.
No wonder they managed to shut down their system; ordinary people truly couldn’t accomplish this.
“Mr. Xiaojiu, these people are incredibly strong, and they don’t fear death at all.”
Remembering the scenes from the battle, even someone as tough as Di Ran felt a chill in her heart.
There aren’t many people in this world who truly don’t fear death.
Even among their brothers, who would want to die if they could stay alive?
Mu Xiaojiu nodded; he had guessed as much without needing to be told.
Unexpectedly, the opponent was prepared in several ways.
That Mu Xuri held a press conference was just to divert his attention.
“Uncle, the base contains various governmental secret files and our global brothers’ lists.”
Mu Xiaoyao strode up to Mu Xiaojiu, not even taking the time to wipe the blood off his face.
“I’m worried they’ll breach the system and retrieve the files.”
“Take a squad and immediately head back to the command room. Everyone else, sweep the island for hidden enemies.”
Mu Xiaojiu waved his sleeve, “Xiaoyao, I’ll clear the path for you.”
After quickly checking his weapons, Mu Xiaojiu took Di Ran and a dozen brothers to clear the way ahead.
Mu Xiaoyao, fully equipped, followed closely behind with a dozen brothers.
Wolf Territory’s other identity is the world’s largest intelligence organization, specializing in providing information to government leaders.
Even the Mu family members do not know this.
